Thanks for your super Add-on! I like it very much. Easy to use, but I have a question. Can you make the same for Zoho Calendar. I mean also a provider for Thunderbird. Zo I can use Zoho & Google calendar in Thunderbird.
I didn't saw any pm possibility, so I did it this way. Like to hear from you so i can set up an account for you.

Hi! Unfortunately I will not be creating a further extension that works with Zoho since creating a provider to perfection is a substantial amount of work. But, this doesn't mean there will be no chance! Take a look at: https://forums.zoho.com/topic/caldav-support it looks like Zoho is working on CalDAV support, which is supported natively within Lightning. Maybe you can ask them to give an update on their current status.

This addon worked very well but since a few days, it started to ask my password(s?) for each calendar. Even if I checked the remember box, it doesn't remember anything.
I make a rate of 4/5 because I used it since the beginning and I love it.

I love this addon! It can be greater if there is a sync for offline use!

I suggest/support 3 future developments :1) a real sync. - i.e. a local copy of the agenda to work off line (it might be already available ?)2) a sync. of the tasks3) a better integration of the alerts.
Edit : revised based on Philipp's answer

Deze beoordeling betreft een eerdere versie van de add-on (0.7.1).

A real sync is already possible using the Experimental Cache feature of Lightning. I am working on Task Sync, bear with me. Also, the alert integration is something to be solved in Lightning itself and not in the provider. I'd appreciate if you could revise your review based on this! Thanks :)

My apology. I missed a rather important step. This works 100% FLAWLESS and I apologize for my previous review.

Works well, but stops working when Thunderbird or Lightning update (automatically in my case). Current version is not operational (when attempting to update, an error message appears, stating it is incompatible with Thunderbird 4.0) Besides, would love it to work when not-on-line (e.g. synchronizing when coming back on-line)

Deze beoordeling betreft een eerdere versie van de add-on (0.7.1).

Unfortunately I cannot support every version of Thunderbird, 4.0 was never released. All stable release versions of Thunderbird are supported by this or a previous version of the provider.

Full offline sync is being worked on in Lightning and readonly offline support is available via the experimental cache feature, also in Lightning.

I'm finding this a great tool for keeping my Lightning and Android calendars in sync. It's really handy to be able to enter details either on the phone or in Lightning.

I love this add on! It syncs all of my google calendars. I've been using it for over a year now with no problems. For the other reviews that ask "why do I need this?", it allows BIDIRECTIONAL access to your google calendars. Otherwise it's just read-access only.
Love it!! ;)

I don't understand why I need this to sync Google calendar & Lightning. I can put the GCal link in "New Calendar"... can't I? (I haven't tried Provider so rating 2* as I can't "not" rate!)I used this tip: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=99358#sunbird to install the Google CalDav in Lightning & it seems to be working fine in both directions. That said, Instructions, Help, config etc., in Lightning AND Google calendar are a total mess. It took me over an hour to find the above, which stipulates that it must be a https address, but other tips send you to the xml / ical / http addresses (all http). Maybe above link is for DavCal only? What's the difference between DavCal & iCal? ...&xml & html..?All I know is my calendar works across my 2 PCs, in TB and on the Google calendar site. Without Provider. (And if I used OldeCrow's 5-min rule I'd still be in 1980 ;-))

Very nice add-on! Works without a problem.
The only thing is that there should be a reload button, but i can't find it. It took me a while before i found how to synchronize manually: rightclick on the name of the calendar and choose the synchronize option. Don't know if there are other ways... Can't access the Option-button in de Add-on section either.

This add-on seems to work fine. Just for the record, it DOES NOT require Google Tab to work. The purpose of the add-on, as far as I can tell, is to let you access your Google Calendar through Lightning. I'm guessing that without it, you'd only be able to read your Google Cal but not be able to write to it.To get this add-on working: (1) Install Lightning and Prov for Google Cal.(2) Once you've got the two installed, restart Thunderbird and you should see the calendar tab up (or click the calendar icon in the top right if it's not). (3) On the left side, in the Calendar section, right click and add a new calendar. (4) Create a new network calendar.(5) Get the XML link the calendar that you want. To do this, go to your Google Cal in your browser, click Settings --> Calendar Settings (Top right of your screen). Select the Calendar tab and then click on the name of the calendar. At the bottom of the page, you should see the something that says Private Address, click the XML button beside and copy the link provided.(6) Back in your Thunderbird, select Google calendar and then paste the link from step 5. (7) Select the colour you want and the name you want to give you calendar and you're done. You need to repeat this process for EVERY calendar in your Google Cal. So if you have 3 calendars (work, personal, holidays) you need to set each of them up as a new calendar.Hope that helps.

Synching Thunderbird with your Google calendar is wonderful! The procedure is not intuitive nor well documented, but was quick and simple. Here is what I did:1. Open the Add-ons window (Tools/Add-ons) Add the following extensions: - Lightening - Provider for Google Calendar (bi-directional access) - Google Calendar Tab2. Click the Preferences button for Google Calendar Tab extension, select the second radio button (Google Apps for your domain), and paste the URL to your Google calendar (to do this, just open your Google calendar in a browser to get the URL).3. Quit Thunderbird and restart.4. Select Tools/Google Calendar.Your Google calendar should open in a new tab within Thunderbird and you should have bi-directional access to edit it without ever having to leave Thunderbird. Nice! (You may need to login the first time but you can then tell Thunderbird to remember your login credentials.) Unless you close the Google calendar tab, Thunderbird should open default to open with the Google Calendar tab. If you close the Google calendar tab, simply re-open it by selecting Tools/Google Calendar.
