Kardia CRM Add-on for Thunderbird

The Kardia CRM extension displays information about users in your emails. The information is pulled directly from a Kardia CRM server so you MUST HAVE ONE SET UP FOR THIS TO EXTENSION TO WORK.

The Kardia software system is a browser-based CRM, donation, and finance system designed specifically for nonprofit missionary/humanitarian/NGO type organizations. It is open-source software and may be freely used by anyone. You can download the Kardia virtual appliance at https://sf.net/projects/kardia. Be sure to read the README file and the Appliance Quick Reference document, both available on the Kardia project's Sourceforge download page. Kardia is still in beta and some initial setup is required for things to work properly.

This add-on does communicate over the network and with other components within Thunderbird and Lightning.

Network Server. When you start Thunderbird with the Kardia add-on enabled, you will need to log in to an account on a Kardia CRM server that you (or someone you work with) has set up. This add-on communicates over the network with that server only, to lookup and update profile and task (and other CRM-related) data.

Calendars. This add-on may be configured to synchronize your Kardia CRM task data with a task list or calendar you have configured within the Thunderbird Lightning add-on.

Email. This add-on accesses the content and/or email address(es) of the emails that you view, in order to determine if the addressee(s) are in the Kardia CRM database, so that profile data about those addressee(s) may be displayed to you. This add-on also may, at your option, also store information about email messages in the Kardia CRM database.

Email Servers. This add-on accesses information about email server(s) you have configured in Thunderbird. It does so in order to determine what email addresses belong to you, so that your own profile on the Kardia server is not repeatedly displayed to you when you open emails in which you are an addressee (this would include nearly all of your emails!).

Some add-ons ask for permission to perform certain functions. Since you’re in control of your Thunderbird, the choice to grant or deny these requests is yours.

Please note this add-on uses legacy technology, which gives it access to all browser functions and data without requesting your permission.
