this extension sticks icons all over firefox, you should expect your memory usage to increase
FF 31.0 Win7 x64 16GB (fresh firefox install):
with Private Bytes:137MB Working Set:151MB
without Private Bytes:123MB Working Set:139MB


there's other extensions that have less icons if you don't want high memory usage, so change low rating?

not that i know of, instead of right clicking you can middle click on a tab to close it

if you meant that little + sign next to the tabs, that comes with firefox by default

copy this into userchrome.css, restart, and it should make the + always show

#tabbrowser-tabs>.tabs-newtab-button{display:-moz-box!important}

as i've mentioned in the developers comments:
"if you've made an alternate mosaic.png and want it to be included then send it to [email protected]

edit:
you'll either need to edit one of the mosaic*.png files with the icons you like, then email it to me
or this is the file I use to make the mosaic*.png files, you'll need a copy of gimp
