Guys, the Monterail Dark and Monterail Full Dark themes STILL work with Thunderbird 68, the reason is they're maintained by somebody else.

They are now listed as Extensions, instead of Themes.

To get them, (1) browse the Thunderbird Extensions, (2) search for Monterail Dark or Monterail Full Dark, (3) install those extensions, (3) make sure they are, for now, deactivated, (4) in Thunderbird, choose to have the Default theme, (5) and finally, back in Extensions, activate either Monterail Dark, or Monterail Full Dark.

Enjoy, and thanks a lot to the kind maintainer of Dark and Full Dark :)

Theme Monterial does not work on TB version 60.9.0 (64-bit)
Paenglab, any idea when or if this will be fixed? It was ny default look!

I've loved this theme, but unfortunately, from the latest version of Thunderbird don't work anymore. Please, correct this!

Finally a real theme that makes TB look modern & serious. A very motivating design, that lets you achieve an empty inbox. Everything looks fine on Windows 8.1, I have not yet encountered any issues with... well, anything. It just works. Kudos to the developer!

On 60.2.1 Thunderbird in Linux, none of the colors or icons show up. It might as well be the generic default. Sad to say because it looks like it's a pretty good theme.

The theme is great but it has some bugs and annoyances that were reported to the maintainer. He acknowledged them but never released a fix.

Meanwhile, Monterail Dark and Full Dark were released and polished by another dev and are now in much better shape.

I mostly like it. Some problems: The icons don't follow the mockup or spymastermatt's design, the bar on top of the email (reply, reply all, forward, ...) is completely undesigned, and the height of each email in the message list also doesn't follow the design (see also the forks of this addon)

The theme has a nice colored background for the folder pane, is fairly crisp, and doesn't do anything annoying (like poor choices for toolbar icons or forcing you to see a placeholder for a contact photo next to every email address).

The vertical scrollbar thumb needs to be both larger and colored to work well when you have over a thousand messages in a folder. The show only unread messages icon in the quick filter bar is confusing. The folder pane has colored folder icons but the folder tab doesn't use those colors.

It has confusing color choices for folder icons in the folder pane. Most folder icons are blue, while the drafts icon is green, the junk icon is white (expected red or orange), saved search and templates are white and the inbox is white with a green down arrow.

When I installed it for version 60 and restarted with that theme enabled Thunderbird continued to display the default theme. It only displayed correctly after I re-installed 52.9.1, ran it, exited and then re-ran 60. Both versions used the same profile. It would help if there was a support email link.

Thunderbird 52.9.1 with this theme looks very good. Thanks for good job!

Works nicely on the email accounts columns.
If it would be possible to apply also to the sections listing the emails that would be very useful for some vision impaired users.

I have just convinced my 70 year old dad to use Thunderbird as a way to escape the multiple captcha needed to access the websites of his email accounts have been making his life pretty miserable. Allowing a direct access to his emails (no captcha anymore), Thunderbird is putting him back in contact with social interactions and providing him again the feeling of being connected to the rest of developed world.
Quickly though, he has felt that the background (white) and stars (yellow) colors were not allowing him to see the latter. I wonder if it would be possible to apply Monterail on the section of the page listing the emails so that these stars would stand out from the background. This would make Thunderbird more "vision impaired friendly".

It is elegant, clean and modern. I think thunderbird should use this theme by default.

Clean and profesional. It should be a default theme for thunderbird.

I feel really comfortable working with this theme.
Items are clearly laid out, easy to find and read.
So, far, the only improvement I would suggest is changing the black font used for the text in the top-most tabs to white when unselected.

Découvert par hasard sur http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/04/a-modern-thunderbird-theme-font.
Maintenant packagé sous la forme d'une extension grâce à Paenglab.

Même plus la peine de "bricoler" son profil.....

Royal.

Very good.
But in a folder when new mail, this is not clear.
Change color when new mail on a folder ? (for example orange / yellow)
