When I switch CompactHeader plugin to compact view mode, Display Contact Photo (https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/thunderbird/addon/58034) plugin stops showing fotos.
I can confirm the problem. I will look at it in a few days but I'm not sure if its a CompactHeader problem.

If you use the Customize Header functionality to remove all the buttons (Reply, Archive, Delete, etc) - and then collapse the Header - there's a strange different-colored "box" of space where the buttons would go.
With the Header expanded normally, everything is fine. No weird box. But if you collapse the Header (and don't have any of the buttons on there) - then you see it. sohbet
Could please describe the exact way you got this bug:
Did you do a fresh installation?
Which operating system/TB version/CompactHeader version?
Any messages in the error console?
Do you use the single/double line compact header view?
Did you close the customization dialog before toggling the header view mode?
You should see this dark area as long as the customization dialog is open but not afterwards.
Does it go away if you press restore default set/display at least on button?

I'm using version 1.1.5 beta that integrates also CustomizeHeaderToolbar by the same author.
This is definitely a MUST add-on if you use a note/netbook or are greedy of vertical space.
I believe too that it should be integrated in the next official release.

Surprised that ThunderBird 3.0 didn't have compact headers as in ThunderBird 2.x by default. This one saves the day!

Like others I found the original header too large for a netbook computer. This excellent extension fixes the issue perfectly.
Ideally the compact header extension should be in the official release.

Very useful, but buggy. Like user SternByName wrote, header line disappers after click on plus button. Only restart of TB gives header line again. TB 3.0 (BuildID 20091204171430)

Is this the first time, you installed this add-on? What other add-ons have you installed? Are there any error message in the error console (Tools->Error Console)? Does it work after the first restart of Thunderbird or does the error persist?

Works great, just as described.
However the TB3 message pane layout really is horrible looking. The from, subject and to are all lowercase REALLY breaks a lot of english language protocols by not being capitalized. Additionally the time/date is all the way on the right which looks absolutely horrible. It would be really great if someone like yourself could modify the message pane layout so that things are capitalized properly AND move the date/time back to the left. What were they thinking?

I love this extension, but the TB 3 problem with multiple addressees bothers me, too. One way I could envision overcoming TB 3s problem would be to set this extension to 2 line mode, and set TB 3 to View -> Headers -> All.
Then, when there are too many addressees to view, ignore TB 3’s “more” button and just press the “plus sign” to expand the header to a reasonable size and then have this extension modified to automatically press the “more” button, if one existed, with-in the expanded header.
That way a single press of the “plus sign” would reveal a very large header area with, most likely, all the addressees listed. If not there would be the scroll bars to continue.
The only modification of this extension would be to automatically press the “more button”, if one exists, after the user presses the “plus sign”.
I don’t know why there is a “more” button inside of the “all headers” feature anyway. All headers should be all headers!

I agree with you that it would be a good idea to show all email addresses of the To/CC fields in the full header mode.

Would be great, but if I make the header compact then try to make it normal size again with the '+' button the header disappears altogether, and the only way to get headers back is to restart Thunderbird. Makes it pretty well unusable. Is this something to do with my setup or do others find the same thing?

This compaction to a single line works fine. That displays subject and sender.
A problem arises with an email that has many addressees.
By default on the single line. To view the list one first clicks the + allowing just two names plus a More button to be displayed. C;icking More extends the list to fill the same line. But.... the clues that the list might be longer are a nearly invisible comma at the end of the row and a scroll bar. One must scroll down to see the rest of the list.
Now if one goes to another tab (say to check a detail in another email) and then returns to this tab ... one is back to just the first two names and the More button! To see the rest of the list, one must click more and scroll down again. This is a nuisance.
Suggestions:
1. Always fill out the line with as many names as will fit, with a trailing More button if there are more.
2. When the user has pressed More, expand the vertical space to display the full list (up to some large enough limit) and
3. leave the list displayed if the user temporarily goes to another tab and returns.
While thanking you for the extension, one must ask why TB 3 introduced all this confusion. We had none of this hassle with TB2.
The behavior you describe is the default of Thunderbird. At the moment it is not changed by this add-on. I think you should file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org about the problem. I guess you really found a bug (switching between tabs) in Thunderbird.
