this extension is maintained by Wips [dot] com - a company that typically packages unwanted tracking/spying code in the extensions they author (or take over)
this extension could, at any time, be 'updated' to include their tracking/spying code and can therefore not be trusted
please add you own review and consider boycotting such unethical companies

feature req: format embedded content (video) as HTML5 to eliminate Flash dependency
bug/feature req: when deleting a feed from a custom folder, the feed should be deleted from the Feeds folder
bug/feature req: Newsfox is often unable to get the site favicon, even though Firefox is always able to (when there is one) - NF should get the icon same as FF

this does not work in NewsFox, however the browser does not always discover the feed either so this may not be a NF issue
as others have requested, a search function is needed - the "keyword" option is very limited and not a suitable alternative
as other have noticed, only one change at a time can be made to some of the options (noticed when setting sort options), after which you have to re-open the options UI to make another change - setting more than one change results in all but the first one (or last, i forget) being lost
the context menu option to hide the feed toolbar is not remembered across sessions - also seems reasonable to combine the feed and main toolbars perhaps to save space???
if you delete a feed from a folder other than the default 'feed' folder, the feed may not be deleted from the global feeds, even if it is not used in any other folder/category - since there is an option to set the cats/folders that a feed appears in, as well as a delete prompt, it should be deleted globally when deleting it ... after all, "delete" means "delete", not remove from the selected cat/folder

this extension has some serious problems with FF 37 - many file icons don't show until they are moused over - CPU is pegged when scrolling through directories with lots of files - interface (and FF) becomes non-responsive when scrolling through directories with lots of files
tested with a clean profile

don't mean to pick on this developer in particular, but cookies are only a part -- a small part -- of overall privacy protection
any extension that deals with cookies should also handle local and session storage and probably LSOs as well

it slows the FF UI even with only 2 threads set and kills it with anything much more over 2
development seems to have all but ceased
after years, there is STILL no option to hide the feed tool-bar and REMEMBER ITS STATE across sessions!
Newsfox is not available in the FF feed subscribe menu on newer version of FF - what's with that?

hands-down the best news reader for firefox - i like everything about it, except that it does really make the browser unresponsive when refreshing, perhaps even more so with more than 2 threads set
the only little niggle i have with it is that, when changing multiple settings, it appears only the first change is saved, so you have to re-enter the options UI for each change
i noticed this particularly when changing the global and group sort options

i'd like this add-on a whole lot more if the icon/menu thing were not there at all - most other add-ons i've seen like this simply fix the link, and optionally highlight it, without being so intrusive - if the user wants to see the cleaned and un-cleaned URL, this could be displayed in a simple tooi-tip and cleaned links could just have a bit of custom CSS applied
other than that, it has a lot of well thought options

please click the "Report Abuse" link and complain to mozilla - if this garbage does not violate their policies, THEN THOSE POLICIES NEED TO BE CHANGED! tell them how you feel!

in each case i tested, it doesn't work - it seems that if FF doesn't prompt to remember passwords, then this extension can't fill them in either, even after entering the credentials manually (the auto-guess from the current page fails to find the input fields, even though they are easily found in the page source)

excellent extension!
so far i have not noticed any conflicts with other extensions - much appreciated, especially since similar add-ons are all either broken/unmaintained or limited in features

no bug reports here - i know - but i'm doing so anyway as it is totally inconvenient to register for some site which i will likely never use again EVERY time i find a bug in an ext. - i wish the extension devs and mozilla worked together to make it more easy for users to file bug reports here!
ABE seems to conflict with the NoScript toolbar icon context menu in that it can cause about 1/2 of the menu items to not display - something i ran into a long time ago with ABP i think.
if the malware domains list is supposed to block access to those sites, then it appears something is very wrong, as it does not do so (and that subscription is the 1st in the chain)
