Works great with KDE4 Icon-Only Task Manager.

Works well with the KDE icon-only task manager - when one tiny little fix is made:

in /chrome/content/update-badge.py, replace the lines beginning ITEM21_ with:
ITEM21_NAME = 'net.launchpad.DockManager'
ITEM21_IFACE = 'net.launchpad.DockItem'

Close thunderbird, restart! Voila!

I like this add-on very much. But now under Ubuntu 10.10 using Thunderbird 3.1.4, Docky 2.0.7 and this addon in version 0.62 the counter shows “-2” when there is no new mail in the folders. Reinstalling and deactivating didn't help. BTW, it count's correctly, so one new mail is shown as -1…

It works! Thank you!

Ubuntu 10.04 Thunderbird 3.1.2 Docky r1622 ppa

It would be more awesome if you could give detailed preferences:- Which all folders to scan and show count for!

Thank you again!

lpiepiora uploaded versions 0.5 and 0.6 today. :-)

So far version 0.6 works fine for me on Ubuntu 10.04 with docky 2.1.0 bzr r1620 ppa (todays new version) and Thunderbird 3.0.6.

Click on "View all versions" to download them and give it a try. ;-)

Hello!
It doesn't work for me,
Thunderbird: 3.1.1
Docky: 2.1.0 bzr docky r1575 ppa

I have installed version 0.4 on Thunderbird 3.1 and I'm running Docky 2.1.0. This add-on is not working for me. I hope to see improvements in this add-on or a 'helper' plugin in Docky. This would be an invaluable feature. note: version 0.3 was working before I upgraded Docky.

Version 0.4 is working great so far - it feels great to have my badge back!

It doesn't work for me, damn! I use TB 3.0.4 (i get the latest version thanks to the Ubuntuzilla script) and Docky 2.1.0 (bzr docky r1472 ppa, activated through Ubuntu Tweak). I thought that maybe the problem was that I modified the "thunderbird.desktop" file (inside /usr/share/applications/) in order to intergrate TB with Ubuntu 10.04's MeMenù, but I restored the original file and nothing happened. Any idea? Thanks a lot!

Hey,
If you are using Docky 2.1.0, please try Version 0.4, which is still in experimental phase, as it's waiting to be accepted by Mozilla.
In Docky 2.1.x DBus API has changed, so you have to use this new addon.
Best regards,
Lukasz

Thx for this great extension. Maybe you could integrate the subject of the last five new messages or so, in the right click menu...

Great addon! I have one problem though (ubuntu 9.10, Thunderbird 2.0.0.23): The badge shows twice the unread message count (one unread - badge shows 2, two unread - badge shows 4, and so on...) Any ideas maybe?

Thanks!

It worked for about two days, and then after a new update of docky, it stopped working.

It would be great if you fixed it, because this addon is really a must have!

Won't work for me :/ Could it be because of my thunderbird being a 64bit build? If so, would it be possible to solve this?
Or is there something else I might have missed?
I'm using Docky 2.0.0-Alpha-1-r1132, Python 2.6.4, Python-Dbus 0.83 and Thunderbird (Shredder) 3.0.2pre (64bit).
Otherwise great idea (so it's still 4 stars although it's not working for me :) )!

@Wahlholzer: We could try to work it out. Unfortunately, I'm using 32bit system, so I can't test it. Would you consider writing me a mail at lpiepiora at gmail.com, so I could ask you more specific details?
