I have used this add-on for years or FireTray. These do not work any more from TB60. I have found a great little app called 4t Tray Minimizer that does the job very nicely. Google 4t Tray Minimizer

Someone opened a ticket on bugzilla to have this integrated into TB. Those interested in it can please register,comment and add their vote to it?

you can download the program from the link below, enter it into a fixed folder and create a shortcut, then click on its properties and copy the link, in the next go to thunderbid and click properties and copy the link of the properties of the program downloaded in front of thunderbid property followed by a space, now ready thunderbid will appear in the desired location!

Unfortunately it no longer works with TB60 and, looking at the homepage, it appears to have been abandoned.

Pointless for TB 60+ !!!
TB 60 is out now, but where is the webextension version of Firetray or Firetray revived (or something working alike) for TB 60+? This is a very important TB add-on for Linux users!

It no longer works on Thunderbird 60. I have installed this addon for many years. A phenomenal complement! To see if the creator can update it, at the moment I will leave it installed.

Out of the date, if I may say so about last version released in 2016. Currently I am using 4t tray minimizer, but I have no idea how to use a professional mail client without tray minimization or autolaunch.

Today updated my sistem to opensuse 15 and the addon no longer works still have the thunderbird 52, i hope this can be fixed :)
