Reject Button 1.0

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The button appears and absolutely nothing happens. I also would have written first but there is no contact form. This one is an immediate uninstall.

Search YouTube, Yahoo, MySpace Videos and More!

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Yep. I tried a bunch of random videos and it couldn't find anything. Since it hasn't been updated since 2010 consider it abandoned.

FoxLingo - Translator / Dictionary

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The question really is a matter of integrity for Mozilla. If developers can remove ratings they don't like then how can we trust the system at all? Sooner or later people are going to figure out that just because the average rating says 4 or 5 stars the average add-on can't be that great. The entire rating system is untrustworthy as-is.

I have previously torn this add-on to shreds in my reviews over just how horrific it actually is. I see that they also have removed other negative reviews leaving an utterly false picture. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS THIS WORTH 4 OR 5 STARS! IT IS A ONE-STAR CRASH AND BURN THAT SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE CATALOG!

Delete this and I will just come back and rewrite it.

Sort and Search Customization Dialogs

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I edited the old review but it didn't boost the star rating so I am deleting it and writing a fresh one with another star. I think that TB's code is too buggy and I don't play with the add-ons there much anyways. I keep Freezefox only for testing purposes and it is working for both it and Palemoon. Therefore it is time for a star boost. Keep up the good work!

NewScrollbars [Tb 10-56] (discontinued)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It is such a simple thing but the scrollbar is awfully boring as-is. It is good that someone came along and gave people some choices!

Stylish - Custom themes for any website

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When I first started with this I liked it but I just didn't think that I would use it all that much- and I really didn't. However, I am on hundreds of pages a day and sometimes there just plain are things I don't like about them. What I have also done is combined this with Hack The Web and also used it as essentially a customizable adblocker. I found that some of the big name adblockers were clunky, failing and generally not improving. Combine it with other add-ons such as NoScript, Request Policy, Ghostery...and the public can completely manage their internet experience with ease.

In general an active community and people who care truly can make the internet a better place!

Account Colors

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't know how I missed this one. I found it and played with it for quite a while to find what my best options would be. It took some time- but I was really impressed with what it could accomplish. This one offers some BIG improvements!

SmilieInserter Plus

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

My review is a bit late but they are working. The developer sent an initial group of them and I went and found some more. Good!

AutoUp

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I guess that I don't mind hitting shift with each new sentence anyways. It would have been a big adjustment and maybe there would have been times I didn't want it automatically changing anyways.

Identity Chooser

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

At the moment I am using a shared computer in my office and TB has a bunch of issues with multiple accounts. This one should have been already included and it is good that you spotted this and took action.

Classic Toolbar Buttons [Tb24-58] (discontinued)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

YES YES YES!!! For a long time I had been calling for someone to step it up and to fix the UI and this does it and it gives us all kinds of options. I am very biased towards 3.6 styles- but I like how we have all kinds of cool options. Even though I have my biases I think that this is a great example of promoting user choice- something Mozilla needs to rediscover! WTG!!

Quote Colors

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It is as if it isn't even there- and this is on TB 3.1.20.

DownThemAll!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I believe that 5 stars should be given to the true blockbusters and DTA is one! I hate to admit to being wrong but I uninstalled this in 2010 and I made a mistake. I tried many many download accelerators/managers and just about every one of them was more trouble than they were worth. I then gave this one a go and I find myself liking it more and more. This is an example of tech that really gets it done! WTG!!

AddonFox - Best Firefox Addons!

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Just read the reviews of their add-ons to see why. I wont even begin to list the hell that Foxlingo put me through. If they are going to put out sloppy code and then abandon it then people deserve to be warned!

I slightly disagree with one of the other posts as some of us run 100+ add-ons- but to each their own. If I run them I better be darn sure that they work and wont create problems! Either something has it together or it doesn't!

There are many good add-ons in their list made by quality developers that people can benefit from- but who needs Linkular? I would advise cherry-picking out the good ones and avoiding all by Linkular. There also are some real clunkers by other developers in the list and the whole thing probably hasn't been updated since 2010. In tech that is an eternity rendering the whole thing more trouble than it could possibly be worth. Save yourself the agony and don't do it!

Restartless Restart

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

So it does restart FF- but the name implies that we can do things like add extensions without restarting- and that isn't what it does. There are other restart apps and buttons out there and they are correctly named.

MR Tech Toolkit

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Many of us got great use out of it until it completely stopped working. I was shocked to see my 2010 review promoting it still here. The fact is Mr. Tech is MIA and it's functions have largely been replaced and improved on by newer add-ons.

Massive Extender

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I thank the developer for making what once was a great add-on. Now after reading the earlier review I do wonder if it was behind some of the recent screwy behavior though. What has happened is they killed the add-on collector which enabled this one to work. The Add-on Collector had been getting steadily worse- and in recent months had totally shut down before they put it out of it's misery .This- combined with an endless list of mistakes, bugs and other problems ever since Mozilla started their suicidal "rapid release" policy- completely killed collections as we know them. It was a good ride while it lasted...

Add Signature

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The statement that there is no signature function is wrong. Actually there is a function to automatically insert signatures that few know about. You just click on tools, account options and there is an option right there to automatically include a signature. If the signature is already enabled then the app fails to work. Also, for alternate signatures or switching them the most painless method is to put them into a folder( probably in your pictures) and then just manually delete the default signature, hit insert, image, pick one and put it at the end of the mail. The low rating isn't the spirit of being harsh. The developer appears to have solved a problem that didn't actually exist. Sorry Grufo.

Keyword Highlight

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Incoming keywords are great but outgoing keywords might be equally or more important. Perhaps that could be included in the next version.

**Edit** After writing the review it did( barely) work on an outgoing mail. However, it failed to spot keywords and then accidentally created some by mistake. One of my keywords was "app" or "apps" and it started highlighting the middle of the word "happy" instead. I was able to remove the mistaken keywords from the body of the email but I was forwarding an email that had "happy" in the address and it was impossible to correct the mistake. It made it look like crap and I had to recreate the header manually. So it didn't work once, then it malfunctioned on the second mail and some of the mistakes could not be corrected. Not good!

Color Folders

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have been using a program that did a similar thing with my folders in my libraries so it is nice to see that someone came up with something for the TB folders too! This one is working well and I have yet to see any flaws. It does make using folders better- especially for us power users. The only request I can think of would be to see if you could integrate it with Quickfolders where the colors in the sidebar and the toolbar could be synched. I just went and picked colors for both and they kinda matched- but it could be better still.
