Great! Is there a way to make this work on a shared email account. For example, If I color a folder, my colleague can see the same colored folder? Thanks!

Yeeeaaaahhh! Finally, after what feels like at least two years, you revived it and it works flawlessly for me on TB 68.4.1 using TB's default theme (may be relevant for 'hover for color' bug?). Many, many thanks!

I have used this add-on (previous version) for years. Love it! However, the latest version has a bug, at least in Thunderbird 68.4.1: The folders do not become colored until I drag the pointer across the folders; then they change to the colors I've assigned."

The same thing happens to me too.

I am so happy to have this extension back. Its nice to know someone took the time to re-code it work with the ever-evolving TB.

I did notice that when I installed the new version, stored somewhere were my previous folder colors and they all immediately populated correctly -- I did not have to reset them.

I do have a question - I use the same profile on my desktop and laptop and backup the desktop and transfer the profile to the laptop on a schedule. Everything comes over correctly, including the folder tree.

However, the folder colors did not populate on the laptop. Is there a setting or file location (config file, etc.) that I need to copy to the laptop so I don't have to re-color the folder tree on the laptop? Any help would be appreciated.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.4).

TBH i do not know where exactly TB stores the information in the end, but i would very strongly suspect it must be somewhere in the profile folder. If it doesn't, then i'd call that a bug on behalf of TB, because it wouldn't make any logical sense at all to store such information globally.

This now works with TB 68+ awesome. Thank you
Really helps when you have many folders by giving them different color. I have tried many email-cal-contact combination and software and I just keep coming back to TB.
Thanks You

Hi Lab5, thank you for your work !

First (maybe its important): I work here with Linux-Mint
19.3 , 64-Bit, cinnamon-desktop.

> Pls deactivate ( not deinstall, just deactivate ) them all, except Colored Folders,
> then check wether the issue still persists.

> Then reactivate them one by one to find out, which Add-on conficts.

1. I deactivated all addons (except Colored Folders).

2. After restart of TB all folders are colored .. but the menu-entry
of "Colored Folders" was greyed, so i cant change the colors.

3. I activated then addon after addon till all addons are active again.

4. Nothing changed: All folders had the correct colors. (Except the new ones; see below)

5. But "Colored Folders" is still not accessible

6. I deinstalled "Colored Folders"

7. Restart TB

8. I installed "Colored Folders" again (xpi-File from your website from the 31.december19)

9. Restart TB

10. All Icons are disappeared again. "Colored Folders" is now accessible via menu
(right mouse button), but it has no effect.

11. I deactivated "Colored Folders", restarted TB, all folder-Icons are there
(of course not colored)

12. I activated "Colored Folders" again and restarted TB. Same problem: All folder icons
are gone again.

13. It seems, that only that folders have an icon, that I added later and that
I didnt changed with "Colored Folders". But if I try to change the color of such
a folder now, its icon disappear as well.

14. I deinstalled "Colored Folders" (the version, I downloaded on 31.december-19)

15. I downloaded the current Version from your website and installed it: Same problem.
All folders are colored, but your addon is not accessible, because its menu-entry
is greyed out.

16. I repeated then the test with the current Version of "Colored Folders" like I
did above: Same problem.

Nevertheless: The correct colored folders have the colors, that I defined before the
TB-Update.
So thanks of your addon I can at least now navigate easier through this many folders,
I have here.

Thank you so much! I got the 68.3.1 update and the colors were gone. I have 6 different emails and the colors were important. So I looked up Lab5 from my notes and v1.3.4 worked with no alterations needed. Did I say THANK YOU!!!

Awesome! It is up and running and it remembered the colors I had given my folders in the previous version. Also, I donated to help offset the cost of development. Thank you.

Dear Lab5,
Following my previous message, I just went back to your website and donated US$50.00.
Worth every penny - I just cannot work with TB efficiently without Colored Folders.

Excellent - works with 68.3.1 now too (must download from developers website because Mozilla staff are, by the looks of it, exceptionally slow at reviewing and approving plugins. A shame Mozilla seem unwilling to provide backwards compatibility necessitating developers to continually have to release updates when Thunderbird updates break things,

My apologies to the developers and Farbige Ordner. I received a super fast response to my first post, I only posted it as I had no idea what else to do. The developers are working on a solution to my problem.
Fantastic help and great service.

My favorite add-on that speeds up finding the most used folders by color-coding them. I wish that the update between versions working in TB v60 and v68 was available sooner but I'm so happy to find it updated. Thank you so much for making my daily routine with email easier.

I wrote to the developer earlier and asked whether an adaptation of the add-on to TB version 68.3.1 was planned at all and if so, whether it was foreseeable when it might be available.

Fortunately, I received the answer to my email request 15 minutes later.

According to the developer, the customized add-on will be released this year.

That is very good news at the end of the year.
