Would be great to have this in TB >= 60.x. How can we help to port this to work with the new version? Is there a GitHub repo or similar?

No need for GitHub at this time. You can download the extension, rename the file with a zip extension and peer into the source code for yourself if you'd like. Then you can re-archive the contents and install manually. Feel free to play around.

Great tool - unfortunately not compatible with the newest version 60 of thunderbird. Hope we'll soon get an adapted version. Miss this add-on a lot. BR Fab

This is one of the most important Thunderbird-Addons for me. Thankfully, in a threat dealing with dysfunct Tb60-addons, morat has published instructions how to adjust the addon for Thunderbird 60 (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14812194#p14812194) . This works for me .
But it would be great if psoebr would publish an official version with the adjustments.

Hi Tina. Thanks so much for posting this link, it made the update effortless. I'm also working on bringing the plugin to the newer style of extension in case the legacy extensions are no supported in a future revision of Thunderbird. I'll try to keep on it. Thanks again for the help.

It's best search tool in Thunderbird.
But it's not working after v60.x upgrade :-(

I opened tabs for AddOns, email, Search and so on, but they refused to close until I Disabled this addon.

The add on provides a much better presentation of the search results than the very poor normal result presentation of TB.
However, lately it started to cause unresponsive script errors.
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

and also in other .js files.
Nevertheles, if I wait for th eunresponsive script pop-up and press continue, I still get the great list presentation of the search results - it is worth waiting!

If this add-on would only allow me to filter by Folder (location, e.g. Inbox or Sent) it would be ideal. But on my system I get several duplicate emails for every instance because it includes all folders (Inbox, Sent, All Mail, Important, etc.). This makes digging through the results in the list difficult. The default Tbird search allows me to filter by folder, but that search requires three different search steps to get my filtered results in the "list" format. I would love to see the Folder (Location) filter option in this Add On because it would reduce each search from three steps to one.

I understand that you want to only have search results for the folder which is currently selected. This can be done using the quick filter bar located beneath the search bar. If you type your search string into that text box you will effectively search only the selected folder. Let me know if I missed the mark with what you are asking for. We can probably figure something out. Thanks for the feedback.

Must have. However, may have quit working either with Thunderbird 57 and/or Firefox "Quantum" releases. :(
UPDATE: 11/27/17 58.0b2 appears to have alleviated some or all of this problem. The options dialog box still doesn't work. Sorry --- wish I could provide more debug info.

Before I make global search I have disabled message pane (F8). After global search I can see results as a list but message pane is back and first message is marked as read again. Can I contact with you other method? Can you message me [email protected] please?

I understand that if you don't have the message pane open prior to search, you wish to also have it closed after the search. Is that correct?

Instead of showing you 10 results per page, this tool creates a scroll-able 1 line per item list. Much more useful than default TBird search. I wish I could contribute $ to the developer.

I never became familiar with the faceted search of Thunderbird. This add-on gives you a search result that simply works as you would expect. Brilliant! Thanks a lot for developing this add-on.

I find Thunderbirds default way of displaying search results annoying and non-intuitive. Thank you very much for fixing this issue with your add-on! It works fine with standard settings and I wouldn't even need all the options it offers. Although I appreciate being able to "disable threads". I will recommend it to all TB users I know.

Been annoyed by Thunderbird's search of emails for ages now. This add on makes it perfect and fast as well.
