Update 10/2:
Thank you to the developer for posting the update, I was able to install it with no issues.

Original Comment:
I have used this add-on before, but now that I am using 70.0b2 (32-bit) it is not compatible.

May I ask when the next stable release for TB 70.x may be?

Thank you.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.0.4).

I will be releasing a point revision addressing an index issue. Probably within a few days. It's only a control on the max version, my basic testing shows still compatible with seventy.
we should be able to change the extensions.strict option to false but that seems to not work now.
You can download the. I just posted that removes the max for restriction.

An incredibly useful tool. It's good to have it back in active development. I use this every single day and would like to see it integrated into TBird by default. The new developer is incredibly responsive and fixed a serious issue with importing mboxes that was really messing up my workflow. Thank you!!

I was about to report a malfunction. ...export, plain text = html, blah blah blah... Luckily just before sending my comment i noticed the update and... guess what.. yes! it solved the problem.

Excellent work!
In my opinion ImportExportTools NG ought to be integrated in Thunderbird by default. This is a real one-click timesaver.

Thank you gratefully for the effort you put in your projects.

This deserves a six-stars rating... Oh! it's Limited to five... Then plus five it is! ;-)

This addon has helped me tremendously.

The old importexporttools addon has stopped working, this updated version allowed me to restore my system after a computer failure required new hardware and a system reinstall. That coincided with a new thunderbird release and the loss of access to all my email backups....

After (at first panicking) then installing this updated addon I was able to restore all old backup emails from my stored weekly schedule via the mbox files on my secondary hard drive.

My new system hard drive with the new thunderbird and importexporttools NG had no problems whatsoever reading the mbox file and restoring my emails in their entirety, attachments and all.

I was honstly expecting all kinds of problems but it really was a warm summer breeze getting everything back to how it was before disaster struck. A huge relief.

Thank you.

Hi, having used version 4.0.4 of the add-on with Thunderbird 68.1.0, I had the same problem that was reported recently. I tried to load 5GB of email messages that were successfully exported from WLM. But while the mail folders were created, the messages were not loaded. The export of the messages in WLM took 20min, and the import was done in a few seconds. But, as said, the messages were missing.

Sorry for the problems, thanks for posting the issue. I have had to catch
several changes at once in my effort to keep both 60 and 68 compatibility.
That said, I doing my best to react quickly to issues given the importance of this extension.
Please help me understand your problem better so that I may address any bugs.

- Can you confirm your setup, OS et cetera (I am assuming Windows).
- What is the format and structure of the export for WLM , I do not use it.
- Which import options did you use?
- Did you try to import one small folder?
- Did you happen to look and see any errors in the console?

The fact that you said that the import completed twenty seconds very probably means
there was an error early on in the preparation phase.

If I open an issue in the repository can we track this issue there? This is not the place
since we have no real infrastructure/capabilities in the review section.
thanks
Christopher

Same problem as Mark Acosta.
Exported Mails from a .pst via Outlook Viewer to .eml files and tried to import them with your addon. It just imported the folder structure but not the mails itself.
Reverted Thunderbird to 60.9.0, used the old addon and it worked.
Not trying to sh*t on your hard work, thanks a lot for trying to port the addon.
Will edit the review when the problem is fixed.

Update 10.2019
Thanks for adressing the mentioned issues. Haven't had the chance to try your fix, but other reviews seem to confirm your fix is working. Updated the review as mentioned before.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.0.2).

Can you let me know if you have had success with 4.0.4?
If there are still problems I would like to know.

Have you tried the 4.0.4 update? it should take care of both import and export issues. if it looks good it would be great update the review

Thanks for the issue report!
Unfortunately I got between unannounced deprecations with point provisions to TB.
I have a beta that addresses EML subfolder import. Prior 4.0.2 addressed attachment export.
I want to do some more regression testing then will submit. Any feedback great
I don't have Outlook currently so I export/reimport to test EML. GH beta pointer:

I tried importing emails that I had exported from Windows Live Mail. It created the folders but no emails were imported. I tried the same thing using an earlier version of Thunderbird and ImportExportTools and that DID work. Hope you can fix this.

Fantastic add-0n for those that like to format C:\
It's the best way to save your settings.

Big thumbs up! =)

I like to think I have a good sense of humor, but I am honestly trying to understand if you are having a problem and this is Snark or something else? if it's a problem I'd like to fix it.
Thanks for the clarification - I guess my sarcasm radar is Rusty ;-)
FYI upcoming version fixes attachment exports

Thanks for this add-on.
For me, the export does not work in plain text format. The source code is saved, not the plain text.

Thanks for the review, feedback is always welcome and critical!
I have on the bug regarding plaintext/HTML attachments not being exported. I will have a beta by the end of the weekend, publishes as possible afterward. Look for an update soon if you're not on auto update

Great add-on which I am using constantly to organize lots of confirmation-emails coming from a booking-site into a neat database.
So happy that you have ported it to TB 68, Christopher! Thanks a lot to you and the original developer
