Lookout (fix version) comes to the rescue when you receive emails from a misconfigured Microsoft Exchange server or Outlook user, resulting in a winmail.dat file instead of the expected attachments. This handy tool decodes the winmail.dat attachments, ensuring Thunderbird users can access the intended files

The TNEF decoding engine was inspired (with permission) by the TNEF project.
LookOut (fix version) is based on:
- Facilitates communication between Thunderbird to interface with Microsoft's mail tools by decoding metadata and attachments encapsulated/embedded in a TNEF (Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format) encoded attachment.
- LookOut has a full MAPI decoder and the ability to transcode some of those properties to iCalendar (ics) and vCard (vcf) formats.
- As an option all MAPI properties within a email can be viewed so other types of information can be deciphered.
