I loved this addon and used it for years. Now with TB68 it does not work anymore and there is NO alternative.

Are you planning to upgrade your gread addon?

This addon can be made to work with TB 60 with some editing.

Tested on TB 60.7.2 x64 on Windows 10 with Copy Plain Text 2, Version 1.6. Addon fully functional after doing the following edits.

------------------------------

1. Unzip the .xpi file (change extension to .zip to extract natively, or use 7-Zip or other extractor).

2. In extracted root folder, open "install.rdf" file in a text editor.

3. Search for "<!-- Thunderbird -->" string, then the "<em:maxVersion>" string underneath it. Change the version number to "60.*" (no quotes).

4. Save file.

5. Go to "chrome" folder, then go to "content" subfolder inside of "chrome". Open "options.xul" file in text editor.

6. Search for line (no end quotes): "<?xml-stylesheet href="chrome://global/skin/" type="text/css"?>"

7. Add new line underneath (no end quotes): "<?xml-stylesheet href="chrome://messenger/skin/preferences/preferences.css" type="text/css"?>"

8. Save file.

9. ZIP up addon, keeping complete folder structure. Change .zip extension to .xpi.

10. Install in TB 60.

Notes: The edit to "options.xul" makes the Options window work again. Without that particular edit the addon will load via setting "extensions.strictCompatibility" to "false" in about:config or by bumping the maxVersion alone...but the Options window freezes all other Thunderbird tabs when opened and the settings in the Options window won't stick.

Dodatek jest super użyteczny. Niestety nie działa na nowej wersji Firefox.

Czy może Pan przekonwertować AutoCopy 2 i Copy Plain Text 2 do nowej wersji?

I love this extension, I always use copy plain text by default. I would be happy to continue using it in Firefox Quantum.

Love this add-on, used it for years, but the option to "Copy as Plain Text" disappears from the right-click context menu when multiprocess is enabled in Firefox.

Please fix that, and it gets five stars.

Allows you to copy text from web pages into other documents with far less formatting headaches.

However, there is room for improvement. For example, it would be great to make Copy Plain Text the default copy action, while keeping a way to use the old copy action, in the menu or using a different hotkey.

Copy and pasting sometimes gives so much useless whitespace and silly formatting.
This addon needs to be updated to work in the latest versions of Firefox though. I'm not sure when it broke, either FF 51 or 50?

I've rolled back to an older version of Firefox since it stopped working after a recent update. Has this incompatibility since been resolved? I also need to copy lots of tiny bits of formatted data for work, and this add-on saves me a lot of hassle copying it around. I get the impression it's got some memory leaking problems after several hours of use, but nothing that restarting the browser can't fix. I'd recommend... but I'd like to know if I can update Firefox by now.

I have Firefox 51.0.1 and this add-on is no longer working. Was one of my favourite add-ons before, and I would have rated it 5 stars. Please, developer, update it!
