Useful plugin. And works well with carddav. Also has a very useful "merge contacts" feature that should be part of the default thunderbird contacts manager!
One problem is that it overwrites keyboard shortcuts of other add-ons and does not let you change them. For example: CTRL+SHIFT+N is the keyboard shortcut to open the "Quickmove" plugin. When installing Cardbook this opens the "new contact" dialog which is really annoying... I can't open Quickmove and it doesn't seem possible to change this behavior!

Super module que j'utilise depuis deux ans.
Malheureusement, depuis quelques jours impossible de modifier un contact ou d'en créer un.
C'est comme si une fenêtre s'ouvrait mais qu'elle disparaissait immédiatement.
Je suis allé sur GitHub et j'ai téléchargé puis installé la version 93.3
Ma version de Thunderbird est la dernière à priori, la 115.8.1
Auriez-vous s'il vous plaît une solution à ce problème ?

Bonjour, gros problèmes avec la version 92.9 :
- nouveaux contacts : j'ai fini par trouver comment faire, il faut désactiver la génération du nom/prénom, etc (pas commode et beaucoup ne trouveront pas, cf posts précédents !)
- la fonctionnalité de "coller une photo" a disparu ou même à partir d'un fichier
- pour sauver une fiche, il faut scroller jusqu'en bas pour trouver le bouton "Sauver" ; tout ce qui était dans d'autres onglets est listé en-dessous, il n'y a plus d'onglets. Pas commode non plus !
Je suis revenu à la version 92.3 en attendant une correction de ce module qui est quand-même excellent. Merci d'avance !

EDIT: bugs corrigés, tout est rentré dans l'ordre avec la 93.3 ! Merci pour la réactivité.

とても便利に利用しています。
しかし、昨日アップデートしていたようで、今日は新規ユーザーを登録しようとしても、「名」欄に入力しようとする「undefined」と出て入力することが出来なくなってしまいました。
不具合であれば、早急に修正をお願いします。

Que se passe-t-il ? Plus rien ne fonctionne correctement ! La dernière mise à jour à complètement bouleversé mon carnet d'adresses. Je ne peux plus rien modifier...

Bin gerade zu Thunderbird (115.7 - Windows 11) zurück gekehrt und war ehemals ein begeisterter Nutzer von CardBook. Leider hat sich Cardbook sehr verschlechter.
> Dialogfenster zur Einrichtung nach Installation sind größer als der Bildschirm, so dass einige Inhalte nicht sichtbar sind (erfordert blindes Navigieren)
> Spaltenbreite der Kontaktliste lässt sich nicht beliebig einstellen (Spaltenbreite der ersten Spalte mit Anzeigename ist eingeschränkt (lässt sich nicht beliebig verbreitern)
> Geburtstage etc. werden nicht in den Kalender übernommen (warum ?)
> für Geburtstage etc. lässt sich keine Erinnerung mit Uhrzeit einstellen, wenn ganztägige Termine ausgewählt sind.
> Dialogfelder sind teilweise unverständlich
CardBook hat rundum stark nachgelassen - leider.

not yet possible (a patch in Thunderbird is on the way)... I hope a good issue in y a couple of months :)

I have just a problem with the calculation of the age of the contacts from their birthday : example date of birth 20000101 gives as age 22 ( %2$S) and not 24??? and I don’t see where the problem is ???

the %2$S correctly works (once). Your issue is surely due to the fact that the birthday event already exists in your calendar. So first delete your event and retry to create your event. For a recurrent event the age is fixed with the first event.

thanks for the plugin.
switched because the integrated one was with read-only settings. today a domain change, and same issue. can't even copy setting strings. less than read-only. settings in binary blobgs:/ thunderbird will be a nightmare forever.
Can i clarify: In address book properties, can't edit "URL" or "Username", and can't even copy it (it's not selectable). So i try to look up the files, but these are binaries.

Bis vor kurzem war das Add-on hilfreich. Seit ca. drei Monaten ist es einfach nicht mehr zu gebrauchen.
Es werden nur noch wenige Kontakte angezeigt. Ich verwende keine weiteren Add-ons. Auch auf einem komplett neu installierten Rechner funktioniert das Add-on nicht. Die Kontakte werden zwar mit Nextcloud synchronisiert, aber die Anzeige geht schief. Da ich das Add-on sehr sinnvoll fand habe ich viele Stunden investiert um den Fehler zu umgehen.

Unfortunately for me, I found the same issue as the other persons reported above. First time for me to switch from Evolution to Thunderbird in Ubuntu 20.04 in order to manage my contacts, and one page on the web points to Cardbook to improve contacts management, then it doesn't work, then I find the messages here.
As for your gitlab page I can read the bug was closed yesterday.
I'll continue using Evoution then.

Was an excellent tool, but as of 115.5.1 and release 92.1 addresses do not display.
Also sometimes, clicking on the button does nothing.
Tested with all other extensions disabled.

Received the response below. Oddly enough, I did know enough to try a restart. And have even rebooted since I posted. Guess what, the problem is still there

Alltough your addon is very usefull, perhaps 10 days ago I noticed the same problem as described here: https://gitlab.com/CardBook/CardBook/-/issues/1564
Reloaded all, desactivated the other addons, deinstalled cardbook and reinstalled - no result!
As I don't want to create a new profile (which might help, but costs me a whole day with all my accounts, settings and addons and their settings), please - do you have a solution or an idea to solve this?
[ Windows 10 pro with Thunderbird 115.4.3 (64-Bit) and Cardbook 91.8 ]

Bonjour,
Nous sommes de grands fans de Cardbook. Totuefois, nous rencontrons un problème. En faisant un export en .csv nous ajoutons les champs, etc. tout fonctionne.
Dès que nous allons ouvrir le document excel, les titres de colonnes sont bien là, mais le contenu est vide. Nous avons bien sûr pris garde, en faisant différents tests, de choisir tous les champs "pays" ou tout les champs "adresse", mais ils restent vides.
Faisons nous une fausse manip ? D'avance merci pour vos nouvelles.
