This addon is super-useful when enduring e-mail quotas: i auto-extract attachments to a Cloud folder that i have on all my machines, that way all my attachements remain available everywhere, while my Inbox remains small, and there are no more redundancies of the same file attached to several different e-mails.

So PLEASE, can you upgrade it so that it becomes available in the current version of Thunderbird?! (i made the suggested donation to encourage you...)

And a quite needed FEATURE SUGGESTION: could the addon add hash numbers to the file names before attempting to save. That way files with the same name will automatically be linked to the same file on disk if they have exactly the same content, but to different files on disk if they are dissimilar.

Best.

Your suggestion is great, but probably not to be realized, as this will not be implementable in an add-on (especially as Mail- / WebExtension)

Would be deeply grateful if you could update it for current TB versions. It is wonderful and great time saver.
Thank you

Добрый день! Отличное дополнение, только требуется его доработка до автоматизации извлечений сразу в готовые папки, после фильтрации сообщений по папкам. Может есть контакты, кто сможет это доработать, разумеется за вознаграждение?!

Thanks for your work. It is continued here: https://addons.thunderbird.net/de/thunderbird/addon/attachmentextractor-continued/reviews/1157714/#review-edit-form

Where do I find the sources of your add-on? On GitHub? (Maybe I can help enhancing your code)

I give one star less, in favour to the new continued addon, but thanks a lot for your work!

This is/was a great Addon which is no longer compatible with ver 60 and above. It would be great if it could be resurrected

Please get it working for the newer versions.

Mozilla always leaves their addon developers behind.

This add-on is fantastic. Thank you so much for making it work again. I can't believe it doesn't cost anything. Where do I contribute? Found it!

Quite a useful little tool that worked well for me over the years, even though the author [sadly] discontinued it.

Hope someone with the necessary programming skills will pick it up some day.

This addon worked until only recently. I'd edit the install.rdf file to bump supported version. It performed exactly as expected and is one of my favorite extensions. RIP

Dicontinued. Hopefully this ist becoming an alternative:

(still not working with TB63, but at least the author is busy integrating the features from Attachment Extractor)

Hola, tendrían una alternativa del AttachmentExtractor para la versión de thunderbird 60.3.2 (32-bit)?

Since AttachmentExtractor is not developed further, please vote for:

Bugzilla, Bug 92146
[RFE] Save/Open/detach/delete all attachments in multiple/many selected messages

It said ”because it is not compatible with thunderbird60.3.1”

This was a great add-on that I have used for several year. With the update to TB60, I have had to rollback to an older version to allow me to continue to use this add-on. As someone else said, it is a security risk, but this extractor is the only way I could keep my Thunderbird files from bloating to such large sizes that it degraded performance. It also allows me to find my attachments easily by having them in windows folders where various searches work well.

I love this. It has saved me much hassle, time, and allows me to better sort via the computer vs just in email software.

It has allowed me to purge old mail that was only kept for their attachments.

Lucky, i could and did downgrade to 52.7.0 (32-bit) from 60.2.1 -- I thought I had it working with 52.9.1, but it auto updated, and rolling back a second time AE didn't work. Perhaps restart again. --- EITHER WAY, TURN OFF AUTO UPDATES -- check "Never Check for updates" and uncheck "use background service to install updates" -- DO THIS BEFORE YOU ROLLBACK/DOWNGRADE. It updates fast.

Can't live without it ! It has to work Thunderbird 60.3 !!
I don't have any interest in using Thunderbird if there is no automatic way of extracting files.

Addons like this were what made Thunderbird great, but the devs killed them all with Thunderbird 60. Because "WebExtensions". Well, if you're waiting for the author of your favorite addon to update it so it will work with "web extensions", don't hold your breath. Chances are, porting it to WebExtensions is somewhere between painful and impossible. Just uninstall Thunderbird 60+, install Thunderbird 52.9.1, turn OFF automatic updates, install all your old addons, and live happily ever after. I know it's a security risk, but what choice do you have? We don't need Thunderbird. We need the addons. Without these addons, Thunderbird is just another email client. The devs don't seem to understand this.

Very good add-on, but do not work with Thunderbird 60!
