Sobre esta extensão
Facebook Search feature of the website started to work actively since july 2010 and has received nearly 1 million page views in its first month on-line.
Facebook Search built upon combination of Google custom search and Facebook’s publicly available API, which allows one to make keyword search among all kinds of data which is indexed by Google on Facebook and search for public Facebook updates using Facebook’s own search service.
Facebook is having about 500 million registered users now and this makes searching people, friends and other stuff on facebook really a tough task. Here we’ve got the most common asked questions about searching on Facebook.
General Search Tips:
1. Phrase search (””)
By putting double quotes around a set of words, you are telling Facebook Search to consider the exact words in that exact order without any change. For example, search
“Obama Plans to Keep Estate Tax”
will find only facebook pages where this article from WSJ is shared.
2. Terms you want to exclude (-)
Attaching a minus sign immediately before a word indicates that you do not want pages that contain this word to appear in your results. The minus sign should appear immediately before the word and should be preceded with a space. For example, query
Cars in USA -Chevrolet
will exclude all references to Chevrolet from the search result on Facebook.
3. The OR operator
Facebook Search’s default behavior is to consider all the words in a search. If you want to specifically allow either one of several words, you can use the OR operator (note that you have to type ‘OR’ in ALL CAPS). For example, query
Real estate in USA 2009 OR 2010
will give you results about either one of these years.
