This add-on is now obsolete, since the function exists in Thunderbird since version 3.

Seems to work very well so far!

It took me a little while to realize that only the street address part synchronized with GMail (and not City, Zipcode, etc), but when I think about it it's logical since GMail doesn't have the other fields...
