Thanks for this great addon. I am currently using EarlyBird and am on Windows 10. This addon seems to work partially in that it does create a Windows address book and it does create the proper number of entries. However all of the entries have no properties whatsoever. I have checked the Error Console and see nothing being written there. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks much!

Ein an sich sehr gutes Tool. Vielen Dank für die Mühe an Herrn Schaller! Ich habe aus einer WAB-Datei die Kontakte und Gruppen in Windows -Kontakte importiert. Hier hat alles gut geklappt. Beim Konvertieren nach Thunderbird mit Windows Contacts Loader bleiben die Gruppen leer. Woran könnte es liegen?

Obwohl das Add-on schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen zu sein scheint, funktioniert es nach wie vor in 38.1.0 und erspart einem eine Menge Arbeit (Ärger) beim Import von Adressen aus Windows Live Mail und Windows Mail über CSV.
Fehlerquellen:
der Pfad zum Ordner, der die *.contact Dateien enthält muss genau eingegeben werden und den Haken bei "delete" entfernen und bei "always load on starting TB" setzen. Thunderbird neu starten und voila. Danke für die praktische Erweiterung.!

Hallo Andreas.

Die Kontakte sind da (Adressbuch/Windows), aber es werden keine Namen angezeigt.
Kontakte die - noch - keine Email haben muß man einzeln anklicken, dann sieht man Telefonnummern, Geburtstag etc UND den Namen unter 'Kontakt' 'Name' bzw. 'Vorname'.
Kontakkte mit Email - in der Liste unter Adressbuch/Windows haben alle unter 'Name' das, was in der Email-Adresse vor dem @ steht...

Directory-Pfad und alles korrekt eingestellt und überprüft.

Kannst Du mir eventuell helfen?

Hi Andreas,
I'm using a win7 64bits with TB 16.0.2 and I have problem to configure the contacts directory, when I get the good directory, nothing apears on the field.
When I write directly the link C:\Users\MyName\Contacts and I try to load my Windows contacts nothing happens if I return in my address book I can not find the Windows folder. Can you help me?

Hi Andreas, this add-on is great, exactly what I was looking for!
I am used to separating my contacts into sub-directories such as 'Friends', 'Family' etc. Since the add-on only looks in the root of the contacts directory, I made a few code modifications to recourse it into sub-directories.
Now, I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to contact you directly and send you the changes I've made. What do you think is the best way to do that?

.group Datensätze werden nur übernommen, wenn sie eine email Adresse enthalten. Da ich diese Daten auch benutze um eine FritzBox zu synchronisieren, hätte ich gerne alle Einträge.
Ansonsten sehr zufrieden mit der Erweiterung.

Hi Korb,

are you able to send me the *.group file and the *.contacts files too? On my configuration import of *.group does work fine. I wan't to find out the reason of failure.

Thank you for updating the AddOn, the new version 0.3.5 works fine with Thunderbird 8.x! :) One thing is not working correctly: Import of the birthday. Unfortunatly that was the main reason for using the PlugIn (importing the birthdates of my adressbook for AddOn ThunderBirthDay) - is there a chance for a fix? :)

Es kann notwendig sein, in Extras; Add-Ons; Erweiterungen; Windows Contacts Loader; Einstellungen: zuerst den Pfad einzustellen, sonst wird nichts gefunden.
Bei mir wird in TB 5 der Name des Adressbuches (Windows) nicht angezeigt. Es erscheint ein Adressbuch ohne Name. Erst nach dem Neustart von TB erscheint auch der Name. Es sollte beachtet werden, dass beim Neuladen des Adressbuches alle evtl. in TB diesem Adressbuch hinzugefügte Daten verloren gehen.

I just have the same problems as ak4mc:

I use this extension to sync my iPhone contacts with Thunderbird; however not all of my iPhone contacts have email addresses, and when Thunderbird loads groups and encounters a contact in that group that has no email address, it stops loading contacts in that group.

Would be very nice, if this could be corrected.

Hi Andreas,

Great add-on, just what you need to sync windows contacts with thunderbird. Also exactly what you need to sync your iPhone, iPad through mobileme with Thunderbird on Windows. I think a lot of people are looking for this. Maybe change the descriptions of the add-on to English?

Genau das richtige Werkzeug um Kontaktdateien von Windows7 ins Adressbuch TB zu kopieren. Bei mir wurden nur die Gruppennamen übertragen, es fehlten die Inhalte (e-mali Adressen).
