Hi.
I'm currently using MS Office. Now that I'm retired I'm transitioning away from the paid apps. I'm trialling Thunderbird and how it interacts with my outlook.com account.
So far so good. One thing that I rely on is that of categories. So I installed the CategoryManager. I'm not sure if it supports calendar categories as they're not being displayed from my Outlook account.
What do I need to do for it to integrate my outlook categories with T'bird's calendar entries?

Merci pour cette extension très utile. Je n'arrive pas à trouver comment faire pour que ce ne soit pas le champ "copie cachée" qui soit rempli par défaut.
Thank you for this very useful extension. I can't figure out how to make it so that the “hidden copy” field is not filled in by default.

I don't want to be ungrateful and blaming because of the 3 stars, but the addon doesn't work with Thunderbird 128.3.1esr. The add-on was installed without any problems, Thunderbird was restarted and the “Categories” icon with the three colored dots as a logo appears in the top right of the TB window. However, if you click on it, nothing at all appears in the pop-up window area, just a white background, there is nothing to see. However, if I right-click randomly on different areas of this empty white window, I see options for the existing categories, or I can send an e-mail and something like that. So something seems to be there, but you can't see it. Unfortunately, the FAQ link on the manufacturer's site leads nowhere, there is no FAQ. I couldn't find any information about this error. Who knows more about how to fix this? Thank you very much.
I assume you are using Wayland on Linux? Thunderbird 128 has some issues with Wayland. They pushed a fix in 123.3.2, but it may not be perfect. Other extension will show this behavior as well. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1905622

For what it is, is perfect.
But I had some misshaps when selecting a contact categories, since if a write a email, it does not automatically writes from the account that the categories came from, so I have to check every time if the email account is right.

How can I sync Google contacts Groups or labels with TB defaults Address book?

I Usaed this add-on ssince years and miss the update! Seldom I use to send email to a group but it is essential to sort MANY contacts and hold an overview!

I find this addon super helpful alongside my Nextcloud Carddav setup. Only thing I find annoying, when you create an email from a category it forces you to BLIND CC everyone due to some German Data Protection law. I am in --CANADA-- This option should be location specific.
That's my only complaint.
*Edit. Just found out this can be achieved using the contact sidebar and selecting the category... So.. 5 star for me.

works fine and is easy to use.
But it does NOT seem to SYNC across machines. Or am i doing something wrong?
Installed TBSYNC + CalDav/CardDav+ Catagory Manager on multiple machines, and using the same Google Account.
I created categories on one machine, they do not sync to the other ones.
any possibility to do that?
Sadly google sucks, they did not implement the full CardDAV spec and do not sync these groups/categories. They only do that in their own proprietary google API (which TbSync is not using). Any other CardDAV provider will do.

This needs to be location specific. I DON'T LIVE IN GERMANY SO I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO ABIDE BY GERMAN LAW.

Also, I have arranged several Addressbooks to one [Personal Address Book(default)]. clearly.^^
As that way,
I drag and drop each address on right upper part screen into [Personal Address Book] folder.
It is clear and fresh.^^

This extension is very helpful to categorize and manage contacts. With the latest development (see add-on homepage) it is compatible with the categories of the add-on MoreFunktionsForAddressBook.
CategoryManager2 is really worth a donation :-)
