It's a pity that this very useful add-on has been abandoned and is no longer supported.

Sehr gutes Plugin. Leider in der aktuellen Version noch nicht Thunderbird 68.x kompatibel. Hoffe das Plugin wird bald angepasst.

For years I've been uncomfortable with the fact that Thunderbird stores its passwords in an unprotected file and that snooping software could recover plaintext passwords and oauth keys from it. Swick's excellent "GNOME Keyring integration" add-ons fixes that by allowing the user to have this information stored in a password protected encrypted gnome keyring file with a name of your choice (I chose "thunderbird").

The add-ons ties in to standard Gnome keyring tools, and I can easily lock the keyring (using the seahorse GUI) when it is not needed.

I'm using version 0.13 of the add-on with Thunderbird version 60.

This addon is excellent and something that should have been native in Firefox a very long time ago, I don't know what the devs are thinking I saw this feature requested as a bug with active posts asking for it from 13 years ago!

Hi! Anybody has any knowledge about its upgradation to Quantum? Thanks. :)

Password sync stopped working when upgrading to Firefox 49. All my password timestamp where at epoch 0. Removing Gnome keyring integration fixed my issue. I also had the auto fill issue.

Thanks for your add-ons.

Firefox 49. Auto-fill does not work. Requires me to "display the list of passwords" and copy-paste manually. Ubuntu 14.04

UPD: At the moment the integration works again! Thx for the fix

There is a new version available which fixes the issue but it's stuck in the review queue. It'll be available as soon as the review is done. Usually I notice problems with new versions earlier so the update is available to you before the new version ships. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

It works like charm, thanks alot!
Maybe needs a little bit of polishing (about:config should not be needed, maybe a small options page like in the other add-on?)
Hope something like this will get included into firefox eventually.

Hi, if I understood you correctly your passwords got lost. Can you check the addon preferences and select
the right keyring (probably called "mozilla")?

Edit: jone, I really appreciate your comment because it allows me to understand what the problem is for many people. So a real and honest: Thank you!

I'm not sure why the addon doesn't keep the same keyring as before the new version. I'll try to figure it out and publish a patch if it it makes sense!

If you encounter another problem you can always contact me at [email protected].

Cheers!

This should officially get picked up by Firefox Linux version!

The only pressing thing it needs is separating the passwords between profiles.

Thanks for updating, one star more.
The hanging confirmation has gone.

One thing remains, as long as I can see it, on the Preferences -> Security -> Saved Passwords are the values for "Last Used" and "Last Changed" fields always the same "1. Jan. 1970 01:00".
The real dates are very appreciated.
