good extension, a similar one for FF 57+ https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/nextprev-page/

I loved this extension, since it did something that no other Firefox extension could do.

Anyone know of a replacement?

Nice! Thanks for sharing. It was not immediately intuitive but once dialed in for a given URL works like a charm!!

I actually created two versions of alternative - and + buttons, and saved them as 32-bit PNG images with transparent backgrounds. I uploaded them here and you are free to use them as needed. I extended the - and + by 1 pixel to make up for the absence of the green circles, and also added semi-transparent grey border for a more natural softer effect.

Very simple and useful addon. I'm glad to found it.

Great addon, but it doesn't currently work for Firefox 7.*

As a long time user of the now seemingly-abandoned Location Navigator, URL Flipper has proven to be an excellent substitute. I especially like the ability to auto-seek up/down the number sequence until it finds one that works, rather than having to manually hunt for working URLs one number at a time.

However, there's one key feature that Location Navigator had, but URL Flipper doesn't: while browsing up or down, you could click a button to return to the original captured location. And this didn't just reload the starting location anew; it actually rolled back your browser history to the original page, just as if you had clicked the Back button multiple times to return to where you started. I found this really handy, because it let me "restore" my browser to the spot where I started flipping; when I finished browsing through a long sequence of numbers, I could just click "Return to Start" followed by the Back button, and pick up right where I left off before I started flipping.

It would be great if you could implement something similar for URL Flipper.

GREAT!
However there seems to be one problem. Both the + and - buttons get removed from the toolbar when I copy the localstore.rdf file to other profiles. The reset button always remains in place. The extensions many good points far outweigh this minor inconvenience.

Really useful! I use it a lot for forums and online comics.

Flipping along dates (in different formats: e.g. 2011-05-02) would be wonderful.

Works as advertised, with one single - but for me major - annoyance.
It is impossible to turn off redirect suppression, making this extension all but useless for sites like http://www.houzz.com, where incrementing/decrementing the flipping portion always causes a redirect. But as only the very last part of the URL (after the flipping portion) is changed with this redirect it shouldn't need to be suppressed.

If a redirect results in a substantial change in a URL, the new URL will not longer be a "recognized" URL, which poses problems of its own (an even greater one, IMO). I may consider improvements in the URL pattern matching heuristics that would allow for an easing of the redirect suppression. Anyway, could you please e-mail me at [email protected]? Perhaps if I had a better understanding of your specific usage patterns, some improvements could be made.

Great tool! But could you please upgrade it for running with Firefox 4?
Thank you very much,
Regards, Simon

For those curious, Location Increment is at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/location-increment/

The problem with Location Increment is that it only will increment the last number sequence in a URL, it does not allow one to specify the portion of the URL to increment. It also does not increment alphabetic sequences.

Does anyone know an alternative to URL Flipper that works with Firefox 4?A better alternative than Location Increment?

i've been looking for an addon like this for a while. just started using this and it works like a charm.

-suggestion-
it'd be nice to have an automated option (setting numeric limits), to have it just crawl for the urls and return an index of available links (or better yet, mini snapshots of the results).
