I am trying to migrate a 12 Gb profile, but with no success. "An error occurred during profile import. Error details are: Exception... etc". I have the feeling that 99% of the profile is migrated, all 12Gb are in place and only the final step crashes for some reason.
PS: Issue is resolved with the help of cleidigh. Follow below Github issue to find the solution - detailed step-by-step guide.

Thank you for your review, sorry for the issues.
I would very much like to help you resolve your import problem. The import code is new and I want to make it reliable for you and everyone. Could you please open an issue in Github where we can interactively work on this and I will do my best to find a resolution. Here is the link:

Thanks,

Imported 11GB of folder-structured emails into Thunderbird 115.3.3 without issues. It was only tricky to figure out how to find the import option's menu. I was about to open an issue, but saw that someone had the same problem, so maybe the help page could include a tip about this.

Thanks for the nice review.
11GB import, sweet!
I know there is never enough help. I thought the tables for each context menu was sufficient, but maybe some more general descriptions would help.

The tool is absolutely great and it helpend me already several times to restore lost mails.
Yesterday my Thunderbird mail was updated to the latest version and also the import export tools was updated. So I did a quick checl that everything is still OK. But I can no longer find the "export non local folder" option which is needed to backup my IMAP mails. Did I oversee something or where is this funtion gone?

Appreciate the nice review!
In v14.0.0 I have completely rewritten the import export code.
Basically I removed the remote operation because both methods are the same. As long as you are synced an imap export will be good.

Super useful extension.

But I still have this suggestion for improvement to the extended file name format: How about a placeholder/macro for the respective email address of the other party could be built in, like:

${smart_email}

Wish you continued success!

Thank you for your nice review!
I am not clear on this token suggestion.
Could you perhaps post this in the github repository where we can discuss it?

I get about 10% errors - i.e. exporting an imap mail folder with 6000 mails, and after importing into an offline folder 650 did not come through properly, mostly date/sender/subject not recognised even though in the original mail folder they are displayed just fine. I can recognise the mails that went wrong by opening them and thus compare them to the original, but if they can't be listed by date/sender/subject they're as good as lost. I tried both exporting all mails from the folder in eml format, and exporting the folder. And I did so several times, always the same result. At such a failure rate the tool is useless for me. In the past is has worked, I use it once a year.

I'm sorry for the issues.
Could you open this issue in Github so I can help to try and resolve?
The update for Thunderbird v115 has been tough, but to resolve I need to work with people who have issues.

Vielen Dank für das hilfreiche Tool. Leider nicht kompatibel mit der neuesten Thunderbird-Version. Wann erscheint endlich das Update?

Thanks for the review.
Actually it is already released!
The addon site does not show it because of a quirk.
You can download the official release here:
https://github.com/thundernest/import-export-tools-ng/blob/master/xpi/import-export-tools-ng-14.0.0-tb.xpi

Then use Install Add-on from file on the addon tab

Installed beta import-export-tools-ng-14.0.0-b8 and it worked fine for what I needed (folder & message exports). I haven't yet tried MBOX import.

Thanks for the review (and for not having the update yet!)
I actually have a pretty solid beta if you wish to try. I am currently held up by mbox imports, however, the other functions are working quite well.

Very convenient add-on to export whole folders to mbox. No need for those fancy, expensive apps you can find online as the add-on is very intuitive to use.

Thanks for the very nice review!
If you are interested I am really needing beta users for the new v14 to support Thunderbird 115.

It has a new mbox implementation.

Tremendous. this is the only way to bring mbox files into Gmail. Hoping for a version available in Thunderbird 115 soon! It should be integrated with Thunderbird, imho.

Many thanks for the kudos review!
I am in the final beta stages, but discovered mbox issues with Thunderbird that have forced me to rewrite all the mbox code. PLEASE join the beta group to help me make sure the new code will get some real world testing. That would be great!

b6 works very well except for the mbox issues. B7 will have at least single mbox support shortly.
Thanks

I downloaded TB 115 recently. I didn't realize that I could not, yet, transfer .eml files from my previous email client. I see from previous comment that you are close to releasing a version of ImportExport that will work with TB115. Are you able to say how long to wait?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.0.4).

Thank you for your review!
I am hoping maybe 2-3 weeks. Beta 6 is quite good and tested except for a Thunderbird mbox issue I have to deal with. The eml support should be solid. It would be great to have your beta feedback! See below.

Why does this AddOn require "full, unrestricted access to my computer"? This is either inaccurate or unnecessary.

"Add ImportExportTools NG? This extension will have permission to:

Have full, unrestricted access to Thunderbird, and your computer."
