Addon did stop working suddenly some time ago (TB 115, HT 4.1).
Neither context menu nor any other menu entry appears in the UI.
Please help - I love it :-)

Edit:
It seems that the context menu doesn't appear in every mail.
As a workaround I've configured a hotkey which works fine.

I tried using Header Tools Improved to "Edit full source" to edit a received Gmail message.

The edited email was synced to Gmail web, but the date was changed to the time I edited the message, not the original received date, which makes it useless.


EDIT: "Edit Message" on Outlook desktop works fine with Gmail without changing the date on Gmail web.

Blame Gmail, not this add-on.
This add-on changes the date by one second, without that Gmail will not accept any changes.
Gmail then changes the date in the web interface to the current time, the date in Thunderbird should not change.
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about this, sorry.

A spectacular add-on!

What is missing:

1) For editing headers, please parse and show all the headers instead of showing only some of them

2) Please allow to specify the font for the full message edit window

3) Looks like the add-on eats/hides leading spaces at least for headers. Maybe it's due to the font. This must not be happening. Spaces must absolutely be preserved.

4) My mail provider adds some huge headers - would be nice to be able to specify the field to cut automatically. I.e. I have this header field: "X-UI-Filterresults". Would be great to select any number of email messages, select this field and click "Delete this field".

5) Please add toolbar items: Edit Headers, Edit Full Message.

I'm using this add-on to fix replay Emails coming without the "in-replay-to" and so does not show under the main thread.
This save me allot of mess in my Inbox.

The author was very responsive to improvement requests.

It was a lifesaver for me. Until... it stopped working! The function that I mostly used is to edit the Reference field. TB version 91.4.1 64bit.
The workaround that did the job for me (at least for once) was to move the email to a local folder, do the edit and then move back to the Gmail folder.

apparently it doesn't work with google imap boxes under thunderbird 91.2.1 (64-Bit)?
developers, please investigate?

Emails get destroid: all header informations are gone after applying changes. The changed header infos appear instead as the email content... while the former content (email text) is gone!


Current workaround for me:
COPY the mail to change from the google imap mailbox to Thunderbirds local folders, change the header or whatever needs changing and copy it back to the google imap area.

Can you send a bug report to the support mail address?

Thank you so very much for fixing this. I organize my emails by changing the Subject line. I am so glad this add-on is back to working. Easy to use and does the job. Thanks again.

Amazing - thank you Michel - I was waiting for the update to update TB. As I have mentioned before this is the most useful add-on. Is there a site to donate/support the good work that you doing?

Thanks for updating the old AddOn. Any chance for updating it to Thunderbird 78.*? I really need it's functionality to add missing References header.

Essential functionality! Will not upgrade from TB 68 before there is a version of this add-on that is compatible with TB 78...

This is a "must have" add-on to change the subject of all those anonymous invoices and those fools who use an old subject for a new email. I was avoiding TB 78 but it has crept in - need this updating to work ASAP. Pretty please!
