I'm reviewing this add-on because I can't find another way to contact the developer. In the newest version of TB (115.5.1, which I hate) the add-on compacts the header area for the email, but it doesn't leave the icons showing. I would like it if the add-on would narrow the space just enough to show the icons and eliminate the text altogether. If you do that, I will definitely make a contribution. Thank you.

(The developer is addressing my concerns. Thank you.)

What icons do you mean? Can you send me a screenshot?

thanks dillinger, this is a nice addon for tbird. in tbird 115 it works for the most part, however, there is no hide header entry in the context menu as was available in previous releases of tbird.

Not working for v115. It seems to have no effect at all, the many headers are still one per row. Alt+D opens the File menu here (German UI).

Please use the provided support email address for bug reports.
Alt+D is a system shortcut in German, it is not used by the add-on.

A great and must-have add-on for me. But it currently doesn't work with v115. I'm hoping the author is going to apply an upgrade in the near future?

Bonjour,

I unfortunately had to stop using this nice and useful add-on since now it hijacks the click when one right-clicks in the scroll-bar instead of passing it the scroll-bar itself to scroll window by window. This might probably be a Linux/GTK only bug.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.5).

What scrollbar? There is no functionality in right-clicking scrollbars, to grab them use left-clicking.

And, as always, please use the support email address to report bugs, I don't check these reviews every day.

excellent add-on! the mozilla thunderbird devs update their app frequently... it's got to be difficult for the add-on devs to keep up. i am using thunderbird 107.0b3 and this add-on is currently not compatible. i can't wait till it's updated!

Used this for years, but it recently stopped working properly -- I thought. But it is possible to select Hide Headers when right-clicking on a message in the list, which will hide the whole bar. I had inadvertedly done that. But this is quickly restored by consecutively selecting Show Headers..! So the Compact Headers addon is still the only one of its kind, and it keeps working, and @Dillinger responds to reviews, which is great!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0).

If it doesn't show any headers at all, you possibly clicked "Hide Headers".
Try right clicking a message or the message list and select "Show Headers"
near the bottom.

Till TB 9X great. For TB 102 I am missing the link to the website in the narrow header for RSS feeds. Without the link the compact header makes no sense with RSS feeds

Good start, but the listing pane and message pane have always listed subject first and sender second. It would be so much better with an option for Single Line Header to put Subject first, where it's always been.

Also, why does it need access to the whole computer?
