Version 3.0.0 117.2 KiB Works with Thunderbird 78.0 - 78.*

  • Compatibility with Thunderbird 78: Please restart your Thunderbird after installing this version as the XNote++ column is only working after a restart.
  • Preview notes on mouseover: If you display the XNote column and widen it, so that the three dots are shown for a note, but no text: then, on mouseover/hover, a little window will show the note text. The message does not need to be selected. This can be used to get a fast overview over all notes indicated in the message list. The number of characters shown can be chosen in the settings (Tools->Add-on settings-> XNote++).
  • Keyboard operation: New note: Shift+F10 - x - c, Modify note: Shift+F10 - x -m, Delete note: Shift+F10 - x - d (varies by TB language). Some keyboards have a 'context menu' key, which can be used instead of shift+F10
  • Set note position on screen: XNote++ now allows to set the standard screen position for notes in the settings. It is even possible to choose a position outside of the main TB window. So the note will no longer cover parts of the TB window.

Version 2.3.1 77.7 KiB Works with Thunderbird 68.0 - 68.*

  • Fixed issue that tag colours are not shown.
  • XNote column header shows icon again instead of label.

Version 2.3.0 78.0 KiB Works with Thunderbird 68.0 - 68.*

  • Compatibility with TB 68
  • Fixed issue with context menu if it is opened from the message pane. [bug 63]
  • Fixed issue with some dark themes that led to white text in the notes window.

Version 2.2.14 71.6 KiB Works with Thunderbird 60.0 - 60.*

  • Compatibility with TB 60
  • File permissions of new notes are now set to 0660 in order to allow sharing notes with a user's group

Version 2.2.13 74.0 KiB Works with Thunderbird 45.0 - 52.*

Added Polish translation.

Version 2.2.12 72.2 KiB Works with Thunderbird 45.0 - 45.*

* Removed position limit based on screen size (reset on load) as it leads to incorrect behaviour when using two monitors - was intended as a workaround for the movement bug.

Version 2.2.11 72.3 KiB Works with Thunderbird 45.0 - 45.*

* Fixed namespace collision with ImageZoom - seems that different add-on initialization requires a new approach for TB45.

Version 2.2.10 71.9 KiB Works with Thunderbird 45.0 - 45.*

Compatibility release for Thunderbird 45.

Known issues: Notes window disappears if moved too quickly. This was introduced by some Thunderbird upgrade and I assume it to be a bug in Thunderbird's dialog movement handling. If this happens, the note's position can be reset to the default location using the context menu in the message list. Moreover, notes that moved out of the screen will appear at the bottom right corner when the corresponding e-mail is re-selected.

Version 2.2.9 69.0 KiB Works with SeaMonkey 2.0 - 2.4.*, Thunderbird 3.0 - 38.*

Bugfix: text area in notes window no longer grabbed the focus.

Version 2.2.8 73.0 KiB Works with SeaMonkey 2.0 - 2.4.*, Thunderbird 3.0 - 14.*

  • Added confirmation dialog if the delete "X" is pressed.
  • Fixed bug that special characters in storage path are treated incorrectly.
  • Several internal changes and restructuring based on review feedback.

  • nl-NL and fr-FR translations updated.
  • Some minor bugfixes
