If you don't get this one running, try "Run Filters on Folder Button" https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/13101

Couldn't get the work-around to work on Mac. Possibly related to my unfamiliarity of working with zip files on Mac but I think I'm creating it correctly. Would be nice if this extension were updated.

Adding my plea for an update. (And thanks to ShadowZen for the workaround tip!)

I've tested this add-on and it works for TB 3.0.

What you need to do to get it working until an official update is available is download the extension, open the xpi file with a zip utility (7-zip worked for me although if you use a different software, you may have to change the extension from xpi to zip first, unzip, edit the necessary file, rezip and set extension back to xpi.

The file you need to edit within the xpi archive is called install.rdf. The max version is set to '3.0a1'. You need to edit that value to remove the 'a1' so that it is simply '3.0'

Once you've edited the install.rdf file within the xpi archive, then install it manually from the add-on window. After installing, add it back to your toolbar using the view menu.

Hopefully the author will provide an official update soon.

Version 3:
Please provide update for V3. I'm totally dependent on this functionality but have lost it with the upgrade to V3.

Are there any plans to update this add-on for Thunderbird 3? I use it all the time and loved it. But I've switched to Thunderbird pre-release 3, and it's not compatible.

Nice Button, but no function. Does not work for me. No error message in my error console. And yes I have filters defined.

Does what it advertises: it adds a filter button which can be placed freely using the toolbar customize command.

Didn't work for me - using TB 2.0.0.19 on Vista. No options just a button. I have several filters. Nothing happened

Pretty good! It could use some sort of indication that it has or has not actually moved any messages though.
