Updated script per instructions below from j917863 and Slideshow works fine on ver 60.3.2. Windows 10
Opened the renamed zip file with 7zip and edited install.rdf with Notepad.
Removed the old add on
Rebooted Thunderbird
Installed by clicking the Gear symbol next to the search window under Tool>Add-Ons>Extensions and choosing Install Add-on from File
Rebooted Thunderbird

Edit:
Note if you click on Tools>Add-on Options>SlideShow it will cause Thunderbird to freeze requiring the use of Task Manager to close the program.

Hi
Great extension. Any chance it will work with TB 60.3.1 ? Could not successfully adapt the script. It looks ok, but does not work.
Thanks.

Unfortunately not working with TBv60.
I tried the suggested workaround (editing install.rdf to alter supported versions) but if you do that TB says the Add-on is corrupt. That's a pity because the extension was great, we need something like that with the new TB.

The perfect Add-On, thanks a lot to authors!

To make it work with Thunderbird 60.x:
- download slideshow-1.4.8-tb.xpi
- rename to .zip (or open with 7zip)
- edit install.rdf with some editor
- set em:maxVersion from 49 to e.g. 61
- replace install.rdf in .zip
- rename back to .xpi
- install via Extras > Add-ons > Install from file
- be happy :-)

Das Top-Add-On wie ich finde - benutze ich ständig und bin begeistert!
Jetzt wird es nicht mehr akzeptiert - nach Update auf TB 60.03 - hoffe, dass es zeitnah angepasst wird... danke!

Slideshow is almost perfect extension! The one option I really miss is the print option for currently opened picture. That's 'must-have' option for me.

Nice tool. Tiff support would be nice but I have another problem.

On Mac it has conflict with system shortcut command H. It hides frontmost app. But in Thunderbird it launch Slideshow add on.
And there is little graphocal glitch in prefs. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xmvbfshhp8pktd7/Screenshot%202015-09-04%2023.20.19.png?dl=0

Hope you could do something with it.

Helps me to preview Mails with many Picture-Attachments.

Bat when saving a selected pic with "Ctrl s " the Original-Filename ist not used,
the Saving-Filname ist "undefined", so i have to rename the Filename manually.

Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks in advance

This is a great add-on -- So much better than viewing the embedded pictures directly as they often need to be rotated and zoomed out. Thanks !

Is there a way to have the pictures captions showing ?

I was looking for an add-on that would let me view photo's in Thunderbird the easy and convenient way, as it should have been by default. I wonder why noone has thought of this before.

Great add-on! Could you add the possibility to display a sideshow from multiple selected emails?

Please add wheel mouse support to navigate through images. Apart from that... superb!

i too had a problem with the activation icon not showing in an email with proper attachments (jpg, etc). i'm actually still on TB version 3.1.9 because of other add-ons not being updated to handle higher versions. i had to roll slide show back to version 1.4.4 to get the icon back.
Once i find/test updates for those other add-ons, i'll try letting TB update itself & see what happens with the add-ons.

The 1.4.7 version suppresses the launching icon for non-picture attachments. It is an improvement, which I appreciate. But unfortunately, it suppresses the icon for any type of file I attached. To test it, I sent attachments .jpg, .bmp (single as well as in combination, the same which were "slideshown" without problems, before), but the icon is permanently hidden. So I cannot use the SlideShow Add-On at all, now. Are there some settings which could influence that?

Nice work! One of those features that should be baked into TB. My only neg is the icons look pretty dated now - I've upgraded mine to a nice metro set.

This feature is really nice. Works as it should.

One think I miss for my maximal work support:

Ctrl-C to copy the current picture to windows (or what else) clipboard. This would be really cool!
