My Reviews

Blue Mozilla Firefox

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Best straightforward Firefox logo based skin I've seen thus far. Very well done. A particularly good fit for Australis, however it is using an old version of the logo.

about:addons-memory

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful and good UI. Firefox needs to have something like this built-in.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (8.1-signed.1-signed).

Dark Fox

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very good skin with stylized Firefox logo. Good fit for Australis now that all the menus and buttons need to be on the right, where the logo is shown. Things line up nicely.

Is It Compatible?

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple extension and does exactly what is says on the tin. Just what I was looking for and doesn't do too much I don't need.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.20100210).

Tooltip Plus

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Error I previously noted was fixed, thanks. Support methods were also added at some point. I still have some issues with icons here on Linux, though.

Simple and useful idea. I've been looking for something to do this for a while now, so thanks for creating an updated version of this concept.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.2).

Pilgrim's theme

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a very nice simple and clean theme. Looks quite nice with small icons, though doesn't show quite right for me with large. A good theme for those who just want a good looking minimalist toolbar.

China Channel

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is simple and wonderful idea. Reports of oppression and censorship in China are heard but not really understood by most people. This extension lets people actually experience it, which is a brilliant idea to promote awareness of government censorship. Unlike most add-ons, this is not something to recommend for people to use in their daily lives but rather something to recommend for people to think about the daily lives of others. The Great Firewall of China is a system designed to keep their citizens from questioning things, and hopefully this extension will get a few more people in the rest of the world to question the Chinese government.

DOM Inspector

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Once came bundled with Firefox itself, now spun-off into its own extension. If you're a developer of anything remotely web-related, get this. It's the #1 tool for all of your debugging needs.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.0).

Tiny Menu

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A good extension, however Personal Menu does this sort of thing better and with buttons. I suggest giving them both a try and see which one works best for you.

RefControl

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Does what it's supposed to and easy to configure. However, this falls under the category of paranoia extensions. I used to use this, but these days I'm shying away from extensions I don't really need.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.10).

Quick Locale Switcher

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For all extension developers, installing this is an absolute requirement. This makes testing your localizations a breeze.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.5.1).

Adblock

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I used to use this way-back-when, but with built in automatic list updating Adblock Plus is the way to go these days. Really, this original fork should not be used anymore. It hasn't even been updated in a couple years and once Firefox 3.0 is fully released this extension will go the way of the dodo.

ChatZilla

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've used ChatZilla for quite a while and find it simple and rather useful. However, these days I find myself just using Konversation so I don't have to open up Firefox when I don't need to. If you're looking for a decent IRC client and don't want to futz with anything, I suggest you give this a try.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.81).

Stop Autoplay

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Without this, the Internet would be (more) annoying. No, I don't need to see a video clip of a cat going to the bathroom. With this extension you can only load the flash you actually want to see. One of the top 5 must-have extensions out there.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.2).

Linkification

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Such a simple idea that turns out to be massively useful. One of the top 5 must-have extensions out there.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.3).

CustomizeGoogle

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The streaming search results feature is just awesome. No more next page clicking; just scroll one big virtual page of every result. This is easily one of the top 5 must-have extensions out there.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.71).
