My Reviews

Torrent Tornado

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a great torrent client, but it lacks a few things I need. First, I need to have access to the torrent file so I can copy it to my torrents folder. I have no idea where the torrent file is being stored.

Second, it doesn't seem like it's uploading anything, and I don't like to download without uploading.

Third, it needs a way to set the port that is being forwarded for downloading & uploading torrents. It may be that there is no uploading because there is no port set in the client to accept connections for uploading.

NetVideoHunter

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So far, this add-on works flawlessly for me. I have had no problem downloading videos. I started using this extension because it doesn't add toolbars, screenshot tools, or anything else when installed like some other video downloading extensions I have tried.

Browser Backgrounds

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is an update to my previous review. After the author's response to my previous update, I decided to reinstall this extension and correct some of my previous complaints. 1. Yes there is a local install, and you don't have to upload the background to have it installed locally. 2. Although I joined the community, it appears that you do not have to do so since there is a local install. The community is there just to share your backgrounds with others. 3. The author acknowledged that the upload limit is limited to 200kb due to others with slow internet connections. However, I believe that this could be doubled without much of a problem. 4. The tutorial and the instructions on the website are, in fact, confusing, incomplete, and different than what is actually installed. The explanations offered here on the Firefox Addons website are easier to understand and more complete than what is on the author's website; without the explanation here, there is no way that I could find out how to do the local install and the deleting of backgrounds that you do not want. Moreover, the tutorial on the author's website show a different UI than the UI you actually use to install and delete backgrounds. 5. The procedure to have a static background was ultimately explained here, and it does work. I took one star off for the lack of accurate and easily comprehended instructions on the author's website. This is not a criticism of the extension itself, but if people cannot easily find answers to their questions on the website, they will become frustrated and uninstall this extension that works very well when the user understands how to operate it.
