Strata Home Tab

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Suggestion: works as a spacer for users of themes that squash the tabs too much.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.0.2).

Strata Home Tab

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thanks for this app. It is good that it opens the clicked link in the current tab. Other similar apps - that keep one's favorite tabs always open - waste memory and bandwidth. Better ... to create an app specifically for tab minimization.

This app provides nice compact bookmarks. The bookmarks toolbar hogs screen real estate, but Firefox (and the other browsers) have not provided easy ways to add compact bookmarks to the tab bar or the button bar. Ideally all toolbars should be identical, about 25-30 pixels high and able to take any item, whether navigation, bookmarks, or tabs.

I figured out how to configure the app, including files tabbarOverlay.xml and skin.css, to add more buttons. (Thus: in points to sites.)

However, there does not seem to be an easy way to add TidyRead, a really great bookmarklet, using the command openUILinkIn. Luckily, if the bookmarklet is made the home page, then hopefully it can work with the original xul command (onclick="BrowserGoHome(event);"), and the other buttons can just be appended.
