I cannot believe that lightning is still not working, and nothing has been done to rectify the problem , it has been months and we still cannot use lightning.
The only other option for me is to download Ubuntu mate which has lightning incorporated in Thunderbird which is excellent.

Since upgrading Linux mint i have lost lightning and not been able to get it back.
The only way i found round this problem was to install Ubuntu mate that has lightning integrated in Thunderbird and it works very well.
