I am always appreciative of the work open source developers do, but there are some definite and useful improvements, which could be done with signature switch, such as allowing the signature to be put at the end of a reply, now it must go at the message, so I copy and paste it.

Nice tool, but it's currently still of limited use for people who have multiple accounts set up under Thunderbird. I have one work account and several personal accounts: it's currently not possible to automatically have Signature Switch pick a matching pre-defined signature for each account. Unfortunately, this limitation is in my eyes currently not mentioned prominently enough (until you read the ToDo list...). I hope this will soon be implemented, because then it's going to be a great extension!

Extremely useful, especially if you don't want to use signatures in every mail. You can create your own (yippie!) shortcuts even for toggling your signatures. It's possible to combine the tool with the defaults of Thunderbird itself, so that you start with a different default for each account. It should be said that toggling starts with the second signature then, no matter which one you chose as default (only if you toggle starting from "no signature" it starts with the first one).

QuickText is an extension that makes templates, and for which you have to pay to use scripts.

Sig Switch is a really free addon, which permit the use of quick and easy fortune cookies as sigs.
Wonderful.

If the "to" selection may be repeared (linux, t-bird 2.0.0.9), il would be the graal.

I had the same problem: it stopped working automatically. So I uninstalled 1.6.2, manually *removed* all "signatureswitch" entries from prefs.js in my profile, then installed 1.6.3 from the developer's Web site. It works again. I'm still taking off a star because it's not as responsive as I would like: I have to go back and click the recipient's address to get the signature to switch automatically.

It used to work great for me, but it no longer automatically switches my signature depending on who I am sending an email to. I followed the link to the web page of the person who designed this extension and emailed him about the problem to ask for help, and never heard anything back. I'm very sad that it doesn't work correctly anymore.

I haven't used Signature Switch, but I've started to use Quicktext, and Quicktext seems like the better solution.

I absolutely love this add-on and it's essential for me to be approved to use T-bird at my office. Would have given it five stars if it allowed me to set different default signatures for each email account.

I use another email program since 1996 and one of the great features of to change the signature anytime I want. I change to Thunderbird and I'm happy to find this extension. It does exactly what I'm missing for.

I was trying to find a way to get multiple, random signatures in Thunderbird similar to Apple Mail.app. While not as intuitive to set up and use as Apple Mail type signatures, the additional features and control makes it worthwhile.

For example, you can precisely control both the HTML and plain text versions of the signature, something that is simply not possible in mail.app. An additional useful feature is the ability to have both a fixed and variable part of the signature.

I can also vouch for the developer, who was very friendly and responsive to my requests for assistance.

Simple and effective. I use this for fortune cookies, and it does exactly what I want (and no more).

het signeer bestand met kladblok gemaakt over drie/vier regels; de activering van het signeren geeft echter alles op 1 regel; het module werkt, maar ik ben er nog niet blij mee

First, it doesn't work for me.

It takes paragraph marks off the signature and wraps everything in a single line. I tried to fix it by playing with files and settings, very disapointing. Help at .de site didn help too.

2. Agree - I want my signature immediately after reply. Not at bottom. Thunderbird should be more people-friendly. Nothing should be enforced.

Once I sent a mail to some of my colleagues reporting the signature I use for my girl .... luckily nobody noticed it! Now I always use the signature switch; it works well and it's very helpful. Recommended if you have more than one signature. Thank you Achim!

On Linux (but not Windows), if you set one of the signatures as the default, the default font for Thunderbird will not be used :-(
