This add-on is great. I hope you find the time to make it work with the latest version of t/bird. I use 68.5.0 on Fedora 30. Do you have a donation page?

I always loved this add-on and it would be great to have it updated to be compatible with the current version of Thunderbird

Please please please update so it's compatible with the latest version of thunderbird... 5 stars before the incompatibility, 1 until it's updated.

I have been using this add-on for many years. Recently it stopped working and is disabled because it's no longer compatible with the current version of Thunderbird.

I would gladly update to a paid version of this is it meant getting it supported and updated.

Hope there will be an update soon so that it will continu working on thunderbird 60.2.x

I really like this addon, but it's not compatible with Thunderbird 60.
Any chance for an update?

Can't get TagZilla fixed, so I looked for a replacement and found this - Works just fine! I put my signature in the "Prefix" and add a "Fortune" file and voila. The IMAGES in the XPI are corrupted in v1.6.1 so users cannot see the yellow question mark in the UI. I will open a bug on Git.

BITTE BITTE UPDATE FÜR AKTUELLEN TB!

Vielen Dank, ich hätte da noch Wünsche:
- Unterstützung für mehr als ein Account
- HTML-Unterstützung fehlt
Eine Anleitung wäre sicherlich nützlich ;-)

Works perfectly IF: You install as directed and THEN you open your accounts from Tbird Tools, then check the box signature from file, and point it at the sig.txt file you created in Random.

Allows just enough customization for signature placement to be ideal. Handles randomized information for which signature to use out of a very large list quite well.

Works well :-)
But, the % separator line in the fortune cookie file format should really be documented on a prominent location in the options. This might be obvious for the old unix guys, but maybe isn't nowadays...

I used to use Tagzilla but development of the add-on has stopped and technically wasn't compatible with Thunderbird past version 8 however worked fine until v24. Tagizilla would randomly pick a Quote from a file that now contains over 2000 quotes. I do not want to have each of these as a single file -- meaning what is now in one file in over 2000 separate files.

Thank you for considering random(signature). There is no need to have a separate file for each quote. random(signature) also supports them being in one single file. This file has to be in the fortune cookie format (as used by the fortune(6) program) where each quote is separated by a line that only contains a '%'.

It works OK but it doesn't support rich text ou HTML. Also, it writes the signature in grey only, preceded with a double dash and we don't have control on those 2 things. Instructions would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your message. random(signature) uses the default signature facilities of Thunderbird. The default behaviour of Thunderbird is to put a double dash above the signature and to display it in grey. I don't know if it even possible to change that and it is also not in the scope of this extension.

For this you may consider using the Signature Switch extension at https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/signature-switch/

It seems that random signature cannot work with German umlauts (ä, ö, ü). Since a couple of weeks the signature is cut before those characters. Therefore, it does not fully work for me.
EDIT: Works again after encoding as UTF-8 like mentioned by the developer. Great Job!

Thanks for your review. Please encode your signature files as UTF8, then the umlauts will be displayed correctly.
