Ein Suoer Add-on, aber das funktioniert nicht bei Thunderbird 115 und aufwärts.
Spalte mit Notizsymbol und Vorschau, dabei die Vorschau nur ein Symbol.
TB115 is not well supported (and won't be). I'm still waiting for new addon version to be accepted and it will fix most of issues.
Meanwhile you can try and test qnote-0.14.0pre5.xpi.zip from here:
https://github.com/mlazdans/qnote/issues/58
But you need to upgrade to TB128 first.

If you search for adding notes to most email apps you will quickly find out that many people seek this feature -- but it is difficult for most and simply does not exist for some. It is hard to understand why something so basic is not built-in to EVERY email app...
I previously has used Qnote but when I upgraded to Thunderbird ver 128 the addon was not compatible.
I did not realize that Qnote had been updated to work with version 128. If I had seen this first I could have saved myself 2 hours searching for another way to add notes to Thunderbird!
Thank you Martins for this wonderful and much needed addon.
Thanks! :)

Me to I'm a fan of qnote. I would not like to have to be without it! But: there seems to be a bug in 128.1.1! Qnote lets write into a new note only when the setting is "Post-it". If you choose individual(?) Note, the note is available only for 1/1000 secondand you can't write into it.
(My Profil: Thunderbird 128.1.1, 64 Bit / Windows 11 Home / IMAP / Romulus.Metanet / Bitdefender)
P.S. I did not find an a support address, that's why I place my report here

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say how much I appreciate your addon.
It's incredibly useful and has become an essential part of my Thunderbird experience.
The way you managed to add QNote icon display to the columns, despite the limitations, is fantastic and really adds to the convenience.
I'm planning to keep using it for a long time, so I hope you continue your great work. Thanks again for all your effort!
Thank you!

Coming from Outlook, notes that are connected to individual emails are a must for productivity. In outlook it is also accomplished through a paid add-on which is not without issues but my experience is that the entire outlook experience is bugged. Qnote is the reason for making the move as my daily email client. I was ready to donate today to the Dev but I was adjusting the note position and testing out the Toggle (Alt-Q) when the email I was working with suddenly and irrevocably disappeared. Alt-Q worked smoothly a dozen times and then poof - gone. I tried for over an hour to find it. Yes, I looked in Spam, Trash, Draft and even my Deleted Folder. I searched the Qnote storage folder in Explorer but could not read the files. I batch renamed the list of files to *.txt and was able to read them however not one belonged to the deleted email. I'm only trying to warn people because this seems to be a very serious bug and why I am only rating Qnote a 3 for now. I even checked for the message on my server where it should remain untouched as my settings to imap in order to leave files on the server when deleting.

Warning - Don't update to TB 125 as it will auto-disable this extension.
If you are surprised by this, you can patch the extension to work again (own risk).
1. Rename *.xpi file to *.zip and unzip using 7zip
2. Edit manifest.json file and set strict_max_version": "125.*" or whatever Version you have to.
3. Save manifest.json
4. Create an new Zip archive containing all files from the old archive but with the updated manifest file using 7zip.
5. Rename zip file to xpi file and manually install in TB.
If you get an error, you may have included path/folder into your zip file. Make sure the content looks the same as in the original file.
TESTED with TB 125 but as I said: Your risk.
...sooo sad, the extension isn't maintained any more.

Unfortunately, it only works with restrictions and probably only for users who only manage one or two mail accounts with very few emails. Because if there are (significantly) more accounts and emails, QNote needs up to 45 seconds until the corresponding marking for an email appears if you have marked the corresponding email with the mouse.
Independent of this and probably related to the first problem is the fact that you cannot tell from a list of emails which email has a note.
Actually, a note is supposed to counteract human forgetfulness. But if I don't remember which email I left a note in and whether I left it at all, that's of very little use to me...
Reaction to answer 1:
Dear Martin,
I have no reason to complain. After all, you are providing it for free. Therefore, my text above should be seen as constructive criticism.
However, I see it from the user's perspective without any significant programming knowledge. For me as a user it is not clear why something does not work as expected. All I can say is that this is the case (for me).
However, I now use a similar product from a competitor. Although this cannot create an extra column due to the restrictions in TB115.x, But it does offer the option of setting a keyword and colored marking in parallel when creating a note so that I see a eMail with a note on the 1st view in a bunch of hundreds.
But what is much more important is that this competitor's product displays this note _immediately_ and without any noticeable delay when I click on an email with a note.
Just don't use it with TB115. TB115 introduced breaking API changes (yet again).

Super extension qui m'a permis de retrouver mes notes XNote++ (non compatible TB115*).
J'espère que la recherche rapide dans les notes reviendra sur de futures versions...

a pity however with this 115.3.1 (and unfortunately not the only problem with this version...

Indeed. I already downgraded back to 102.

Excellent. However, the date and time formatting rules do not all work. For ex: h does not show 12 hour format with leading zeros; it shows "h" ... a shows as "a" not lowercase am or pm etc. (more do not work). A seemingly small annoyance for some; for others it is important.
I submitted an issue on Github.
Thanks for review. These letters are not implemented (yet) as shown in settings.

Love this addon very practical and help a lot with my work emails. The only thing i noticed with thunderbird update 115.3.1 (64-bit) when i filtered or searched messages i had the option to select qnote so it can search the notes as well whereas now i dont have that option no more

Great plugin but unfortunately it stopped working with TB Supernova 115.1.1
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.12.5).Thanks for review! It does work but not all features are available in v115. You can put blame on TB for removing bunch of stuff in v115. Here is more information:

A very nice addition but I have one remark about refreshing the added note icon in the email list. We use three computers and notes are stored on a network drive. If I add a note on one computer, only after closing and opening thunderbird on the other computer I see the added note icon in the email list. In the XNote add-on, the icons of added notes refresh immediately in the email list on all computers (no need to close and reopen thunderbird).

Wow I love this thing ! It's almost exciting!
You even thought of export for safety. You're a lord!
I really wish Windows had a similar thing for folders.

Great addon. I would love to have the notes stored as emal headers on the IMAP server so that several people mounting the mailbox share the notes (use case : support team, avoiding simultaneous access).
It did crash TB 102.7.1 until I removed the storage folder so it got started fresh.
Please use github for issue reporting.

QNOTE++ has been working perfectly fine for me in the past. Unfortunately with TB 102 Beta 1 it's broken. Could you please make it functional again? Contribution is on its way. Thank you
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.11.1).Better way to put this is not QNote is broken, but rather they broke extensions API (again) :/
P.S.
Thanks for donation!
