Lightning
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Lightning is the essential calendar and tasks addon for Thunderbird. I can't live without it.
Synchronise it with Google using the 'Provider for Google Calendar' addon. Alternatively, you can enable CalDAV on your Google Calendar and synchronise that way. However, the CalDAV method will not synchronise your tasks.
Lightning comes bundled in the Windows distribution quite nicely, but getting it enabled on Ubuntu/Debian seems to require the installation of some extra packages with the command: 'sudo apt install xul-ext-lightning'. (You may have to manually remove the addon first.)
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
