Like other recent reviewers I regard this tool as "required", use it frequently and was disappointed when (evidently) Thunderbird V 68 rendered it invalid. Likewise I encourage you (or someone) to provide an update. Thanks for all you've done.

Sven - I'm totally addicted to your mailing list add-on and was very disappointed when TB updated to V68 and killed your add-on. An email client program without the ability to handle (and expand) a mailing list is pretty much useless to me. TB with your add-on worked very well (five stars) and I would like to encourage you to update it to be compatible with the latest TB update. Thank you for considering my request.

Thank you so much for replying my query about adding a sorting function to your "Expand mailing list recipients" add-on. In fact, there is another add-on called "SortRecipient" that I could use after expanding, but unfortunately, it is not compatible with TB 60.8.0 . Perhaps you can consider making it compatible and add its function into your add-on. It can be founds at: "https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/sortrecipients/". The two add-on's can complement one another. Hope you will consider.

Very useful
Sven: I made changes to work in TB68a. Why not put this on github and I'll raise an issue for you to get them?

Hello
I had to do a big mailing but was not prepared and TB seems to be really lacking in this respect. So I tried another add on but it didn't really work.
Then found this add on and managed to send out an email with almost 200 sorted addresses in very little time using this add-on.
My thanks to Sven for sharing his work

All well with 45.6 but I struggled to work out that one needs to add the toolbar button to the Write pane.
View/Toolbars/Customize and then choose Expand Recipients. Also agree with earlier post that listing in alpha order would be a boon, as would adding a Delete option or button.
Still a great addition and thank you Sven!

Version 0.3.1 works fine under Thunderbird 45.x.
I tried to contact you for sending my Italian translation of your app. I made it to provide myself and people of my department but your address in Mozilla addons is not a "private" one, so I don't know how to contact you...
Anyway it is very useful for me because of I need to handle many recipient lists!

This might be a very useful add-on but it does not work on TBird 38.4.0. Can you update it or suggest another that allows you to see all members of a list and delete dome.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3).

Sorry, I did not notice the compatibility was set up to 34, because the Add-On keeps working if you installed it on a previous version. I just updated the working version up to 46.0 and it should install and work on current versions now (tested with 38.4.0 and 38.5.1).

Hallo,

Brilliant - thanks. I was using an alternative but yours is much more convenient.

To install in Seamonkey just add a <em:targetApplication> section as shown in http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1355415#p6948645.

Hi Folks

My Mailing lists in Thunderbird was not created initially in alphabetical order but I can sort them that way and see my lists accordingly

I get an email that I want to forward on to a mailing list and regularly have to remove the senders address from my forwarding list so they don't get it back

When I open the mailing list using your addon PopMailListRecipents in Thunderbird, they are listed in the sequence they were originally created out of alphabetical order. I then have to search this the opened listing add hock and look for the one I am trying to delete

Is it possible to have the listing alphabetically when opened??

Cheers

I just walked around and found this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/sortrecipients/

But indeed, it seems easier to have it in a one-click-solution.
As this simple trick here is done by 1 line of code, I think about enhancing the SortRecipients add-on by the ability to populate lists before sorting...

Seems to work fine (TB 10.0.1). You should probably explain a little more; for example that one has to add your button to the Write window's toolbar, enable the Contacts sidebar, select the list from there and click "Add to Bcc" (for example), then click your button.
I even had nested lists (one list within the list I chose) and clicking the button twice expanded the inner list.
Would it be possible for you to add a button to delete the sender's entry from the recipients (if present) in case it's a Forwarded message (and you don't want to send it back to him)? Would be perfect!
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the feedback - unfortunately I don't have much spare time ATM to implement any changes...
But I think to remember an add-on called "Not to" to enable sending a message to a list except to some named addresses - HTH ;)

This is the first addon for the email list modification that I've tried. Some addon of this type is a must have. Only a 0.2 version, and while does work, room for improvement (would love checkboxes), which is why I only ranked 3 out of 5. On the other side, best (and only) addon of this type that I've tried and I'm keeping it. Wish to thank the author for the addon.

Something like PopMailListRecipients is a must have.

Excellent add-on. Proved tricky to find a tool to do this but works as advertised in TB 7.

A great thing I was looking for for some time already. Thanks!!!!
All Mail lists are expanded when you click "Expand recipients" in the Tools menu.
A must-have if you work with mail lists.
Installation no problem. Works perfect with TB 6.0.

A tip for everybody: Even more fun with the "Address Close Button" extension.

This seems to be much more convenient than the NotTo-Add-on.
But unfortunately I cannot test it on TB 3
Will there be soon an update?
