Anyway to make the Calendars, Agenda, and To Do tabs disappear? All I really want is my files, and be able to take a quick glance at the month and click on a day if I need it. I think the tabs are a bit too much information when I'm trying to take care of e-mail. Other then that, Excellent job you guys! I've already stored dozens of tasks. I know it's a work in progress but so far so good.

Why isn't this version of Lightning compatible with Thunderbird. I download it and it says not compatible!!!!

It's nice to see 0.5 finally out - good job! It looks like that was no small feat, however like a few others I'm disappointed that usability hasn't really moved forward a whole lot from the previous release. For example, adding new events or dealing with reminders is still somewhat crude. The inability to search calendar items or display them as a list is also a major drawback. I just hope that all the behind the scenes work that went into this release will facilitate substantial usability improvements in future releases.

I elected to install Sunbird since it appears there is no way to hide the calendar on the left pane unless needed (maybe it does, but I want and app that just works without searching for functionality). It sits there taking up a lot of room that I would rather use with my address book extension. It is like having to have the calendar open all the time. I might as well then use Sunbird. When it matures more and allows itself to be hidden and shown as needed, I'll try it out again. After all it is still pre-1.0.

I'm so glad that I'm able to have a calendar function in thunderbird. Just don't count on having your event alarm pop up when it's suppose to. I don't know if other people have had this problem, but I get it all the time. It may be because I have an event set to repeat and it's not a one time thing.

Let me give an example of one of my events. I have and event set for 2pm every Monday and Thursday. It went alerted me correctly the first time, but after that I always get my alert pop-up long after I need it. I usually have to close down Thunderbird and reopen it in order to get my event alert. This defeats the purpose of needing an event alert, because now I have to remember to restart Thunderbird at 2pm. LOL! Sometimes I'll even get my event alert a couple days after I'm suppose to. This is quite annoying.

Hopefully this little bug is fixed. I have tried removing the repeating event and adding it again, and it did not solve the problem. Currently this calendar is only good if you glance at it for all day events and holidays.

I like the Calendar for Thnderbird. In some parts of the world week numbers are used a lot, I miss these in the calendar just installed.

Not having a calendar function was one of the drawbacks of Thunderbird for me. This extension helps solve that and it goes a long way to correcting this problem. Overall, I like this a lot, especially with the Provider for Google Calendar extension. Problems: tasks don't appear on the calendar, does not import from Outlook directly (got around this by using Plaxo, then synching with Google), and cannot drag an email to a date to create an event.

Good job on this! It has been extremely useful to me. I have one big beef with it, though. There is no "Add Task" button! I use tasks and events about evenly, so I need a button so that I can easily add tasks quickly! With this, this product would be perfect. Thank you!

Handy, lightweight calendar. No need to recreate Outlook. Thanks.

Lightning is a great extension. Although there are a few kinks in the add on itself (as explained by other reviews), but I'm sure the next version will take care of that...I hope.

It's not complicated, but yet, it isn't too simplistic.

Overall, I get it two thumbs up.

Looking good so far, but needs to get some of the basic issues nailed down pretty quick. i.e. TB restart required to get correct date. Duplication of items in agenda on calendar reload. Lack of choice for display in toolbar.

I do not need an elaborate calendar/scheduling system. And this gives me exactly what I wanted all in one place with all the right features.

Works for me and does everything I want a calendar to do. No cons found yet. Multiple to do lists...thanks

A good start to a calendar application on TB. Now I can stop using spreadsheets! It still has a way to go to rival other competitors integrated calendars. I look forward to being able to send meeting requests, auto reminder emails etc.

Bonjour,

When inserting Attendees for a meeting, i was expecting look ahead functionality using my existing address book, like when you enter an e-mail address by name, thunderbird will try and guess the e-mail address you want. It would be close to perfect if it could interface with the Thunderbird address book.

In the ToDo tab, only one item is allowed. And there has no option to delete it and add a new one. I wonder is this musage issue or a real problem. Thanks!

I sure wish this extension would let me view the .ics attachments I get from Outlook and Lotus Notes...

I just switched over to Thunderbird 2.0
I was worried that I would lose the Calendar part of Outlook. This is a good start to a calendar add-on.
