Estimate your CO₂ when composing an email with just one click! While writing it, click on the extension to find out the CO₂e emission generated by the entire life cycle. You will also have access to various useful equivalences.
About this Add-on
With this extension, you will now be able to have an estimation of the CO₂ emission due to the sending of your email during its complete life cycle: manufacturing of computer equipment, sending and possible storage on a server, transmission of the e-mail, processing in data centers, reception of use (reading on screen, recording on servers, etc.), and finally the end of life of computer equipment.
In addition to displaying the CO₂ estimation, the extension calculates different greenhouse gas emission equivalences (CO₂e): consumption of fossil energy (oil), distance traveled by car or TGV, use of a 40 W bulb, and even your own breath! The values are customizable.
Small periodic reminders will allow you to reduce your impact and a dashboard allows you to assess its impact over different periods of time!

This extension was inspired by Estimate Your CO2, an extension formerly compatible until version 67 of Thunderbird.
