Dam I can't believe that Kartoo is no more. I have tried many many times to connect through browsers but no luck, thinking it was my connection...Now I know for sure. Is the French version still alive? If so, I will have to just use a good translator and start using the French version....I just can't live without Kartoo...it was soo very unique and one of a kind!!! And Yes Moderna, Google's search engine is and Prehistoric compared to Kartoo. I hope that Kartoo will come back very soon to us loyal users as soon as possible!! :( I only know of a handful of American users that even knew of Kartoo or used it...and that is soo very sad, cause so many people missed out on a great website, a great search engine. The only other thing I've found close to it, is the "Pearls Firefox Plugin" or the "Pearls Software/Website ". And I know that their intention is to eventually, if not already is to create a search engine from all of the "pearls/bookmarks" that all of the users have created for their own use. But even if that happens, there will not be another Kartoo.com!!

Until KartOO shut down in late January 2010, it was the best search engine--actually meta-search engine--available in the English language and possibly the world. The French search tool gave highly relevant results and used an advanced graphical interface that incorporated thumbnails of the resulting websites, which made sorting through the results a swift and painless process. Google's search engine was stone-age in comparison. As for the KartOO Firefox add-on, I used it for a several months and encountered no problems.
