finally an extension that works with TB 60, maybe complicated in some settings, but I got my colorful icons back, even if they are a little bit small! well done man - for those who want back, even TB in the tray, there is MinimizeToTray Reanimated for TB 60, ( https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/minimizetotray-reanimated/ )

Hi ! Thank you a lot, you've done a great job indeed as everybody wrote #:)-

In the main icons menu (CTB / NB), i can't customize the icons freely as choose my own.

Would you have a couple of minutes (sorry, the time) to add this option please ? Is it possible in fact ?

Bonne soirée,

Nicolas

5 stars isn't enough to express my appreciation for this add-on!

If it weren't for add-on developers like Arris, I would have abandoned Thunderbird many, many years ago.

CustomizeMyBird goes light years beyond ClassicToolBarButtons and other add-ons that the community has generously contributed over the years to compensate for the apparent decision-by-fiat culture that seems to have permeated the core development teams' decision-making-by-fiat process as regards the ordinary user community. [And I do appreciate most are sincere volunteers.]

True, the technology and development must move forward, and as a result some features in the internals may be lost and/or gained. But the BASIC UI/UX (along with its options and history) need to remain a constant so that the day-to-day work of ordinary users isn't majorly disrupted, as was the case with T-bird '60.

I believe that T-bird's core developers have routinely lost sight of the fact that a major portion T-bird's
User-Community does _not_ intersect with the User-Developer community. On a bad day I'm under the delusion that T-bird core developers believe their entire user base is comprised only of other T-bird internals developers.

In my opinion, the code in CustomizeMyBird (and its further development) should be at the core of T-bird's future UI/UX development. Add-Ons are, well, add-ons and Add-On development by the community should not have to compensate for whatever is seriously lacking in the present and long-standing UI/UX development process.

Thank you, Arris.

[And yes, I will find the appropriate blog to post the rant section of this review]

Love it. TB 60 was really ugly to my old eyes and the usual add-ons for classic buttons don't work. This add-on handles what classic toolbar buttons did and about 100 more things. You don't need to code CSS to get lots of features. I am looking forward to what customizations will come in the form of shared custom CSS styles from users. This is a must have add-on for TB.

TOP, thank you for that!

This add-on offers the possibility to tweak the UI of Thunderbird by proposing some presets and user dependent colors etc, and lets also instanly insert your own css code in stead of changing userChrome.css in the profile\chrome folder. Add-on is actively maintained and v.2.7.5 permits to switch without problems from TB version 52.9.1 to 60.3 (bug in 2.7.4 was quickly repaired). Recommended !

Super. Please, do the same for Firefox browser!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.4.1).

You mean like my "Classic Theme Restorer" for Firefox?
That was alive for years until Mozilla decided to stop support for UI customizing add-ons. Nothing anyone can do about. Switch to Waterfox or use CustomCSSforFx.

Love it. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Tired of trying to use a DOM inspector to find the tweaks needed in UserChrome. This does the trick.

***Love the new tabbed settings options (radio buttons). Much easier to use now***

***YES!!!*** Finally got rid of those 90's folder icons! Looks like he added quick-link access to each part of the UI, too. DONATION TIME!!! Thanks Dev!

One other feature that would be nice, is if, for every setting that lets you choose the "blue Aero" colors, there was also a customizable/color picker option like there is with the scrollbars. I'd like to be able to tweak colors on places like the message header area of the Read pane, and others.

Thanks!!

Love the new CSS editing options!! So much easier than dealing with UserChrome.css, and you don't have to restart TB to make it work!

Best, for me, it's the possibility to put the attachment section at the top of the messages (this reminded me of Eudora...). Great extension.

Only a very basic set of customization available for now but a wonderful effort has been done already. Thunderbird really needs a new looks and this add-on starts to give an answer to it.
