Nachdem ich den Größenvergleich abgeschaltet habe, hat das Add-on doppelte Dateien in verschiedenen Ordnern von zwei IMAP Accounts gefunden, sehr schön. Allerdings wird in der Tabelle nicht angezeigt in welchem Account die doppelten Mails gelöscht werden. Die Ordner heißen gleich "Posteingang".

I had about 39,000 email with thousands of duplicates it seemed. At first this addon removed a few then didn't find any although I could find them. I changed the settings which are found in the Tools, Add-ons page, click on the wrench icon to access settings. I removed the size comparison (I think the developer recommended this) and added the recipients comparison. It found 18,000 duplicates. I think it's still moving them to trash! After tweaking settings I am pleased and recommend the developer look into whether not enabling the the size comparison as a default will yield better results.

Worked like a charm on one of my email Inboxes but not the other (I have Inboxes for 2 different email addresses). The other one is causing all kinds of problems because it is so overloaded with dupes.
UPDATE A FEW DAYS LATER ... Started working on the other folder too! Not sure why, but everything is good now so I'm changing my rating to 5 stars.

It would be useful to add a temporal shedulator that in the background (with policies created) acts every time interval on the selected folder

I have thousands of duplicate mails that are identical except for being one line different in length. I don't know how they got that way. I can remove the number of lines from the comparison rules but that would be dangerous since there are too many to manually inspect. It would be great if it was possible to specify a tolerance so that I could ask for "at most X lines different in length". Using 102.2.2 and latest plug-in.

I have mail that was migrated from GSuite into privately hosted IMAP server. Due to how mail is structured in gmail (labels etc) there is a fair amount of duplication. This addon did remove a lot, but a lot of seemingly obvious duplicates are completely ignored. These duplicates tend to have large attachments (10+Mb), if that is perhaps a factor. Otherwise they have identical subject lines, timestamps etc.
But credit due - the plugin DID help me eliminate maybe 10Gb worth of duplicates in that account, so it does kinda work.

Very handy, especially when filters you've created don't work quite as you expected. This will set things right, easily.

Hello,
I try to use your extension to manage an archive mailbox, and it works fine manually by clicking on the button.
Have you any hook to make it possible to automate the process, because I intend to launch Thunderbird from the command line at regular intervals of time automatically.
It would be quite nice a agreat added value for my usage.

Going from a mailbox with 110000 emails, to 45000. Thank you! I had mistakenly imported my emails twice. Saved by this plugin. I changed the criteria to compare to email body, and when i saw the review before deleting duplicates, some emails were even in there 3 times. but no more. Thank you!

I would like to give this more stars. On some folders this generates an error message 'Not searching special folders.' What are 'special folders'? How do we fix this? Any help? What is the criteria?
Otherwise it seems to do what it says on the tin, and works on some folders.

I am so annoyed. This well reviewed add-on seemed promising. It doesn't work correctly though and seems to have deleted most of messages in multiple folders even though I triggered it just for on folder. If Eyal checks these I would appreciate his help because messages are supposed to be sent to trash but are nowhere to be found!!!

Addon broke a couple of months ago. Couldn;t find Trash folder and would not delete duplicates. Just saw updates and installed them. Still does not work. I even gave the guy a $50 donation when I saw the updates because I thought he had fixed it and I like the addon so much... how humiliating.

Love the add-on. However, most recent update seems to work only on top directory (hidden choking with the search subfolders option). Running fedora 33 w/ latest t-bird ( Thunderbird 78.11.0)

Not working. Following error messages appear:
If Move to Trash selected:
"Failed moving messages to:

or if Delete permanently selected "Failed erasing messages" appears.
