The best addition !!! But now it does not work firefox 57! Fix it!
Fix for firefox 57 means to rewrite NewsFox from scratch. It should happen somewhere in the future (depending also on how many people are really interested in having NewsFox and in case which features).
For sure 1-star review doesn't help, but it is a user's opinion.

I've been using this for years, and it's been pretty good. The interface has remained a wee bit conservative, but quite functional.
Unfortunately it doesn't work under Quantum any more. Please port it to the new system. It's one of the very few things I'm missing from pre-Quantum times (Flym on my smartphone will do as a replacement for now).
I just made a donation to Andrey to this effect, but the PayPal form had me choose the amount myself. It would be nice if some sort of an estimate was made to tell us how much more money would be useful in order to get this work done.

This newsreader works perfectly, is easy to use, and is in the user's control. The database is kept in your filesystem wherever you want it, which makes it portable but completely in the users's control. This is the way RSS should work.
Note that Mozilla has flagged this as using legacy technology, which gives it access to all browser functions and data without requesting your permission. As the developer argues, it is safe to use because it is open source.
The addon's source code is publicly available, so that anybody could preform (or ask to) an independent review. You're much more exposed when installing certain operating systems and proprietary applications on your desktop or smartphone. Please, consider to review your judgement on this one, as for sure, even using legacy technology, NewsFox doesn't harm users in any way.

NewsFox is the best 3-pane feed reader in the market (even compared to paid versions).
And in the past, NewsFox has been totally stable for so many years, so reliable, fast, clean, never a real problem.
In my personal case, NewsFox is the ONLY reason I use Firefox.
Please, please, please... update it for Firefox 57... in the name of more than 25500 users, we beg you to update it! Thank you in advance.

I believe that upgrade should be started with migration to some modern version control system to let people easily clone code and propose their patches, and I'd like to try taking part in the process if I could

3-pane style makes it the best reader for me.
Cons: Memory consumption seems a bit high but I switched to 64bit FF so no problem anymore. The only thing missing now is e10s compatibility. I really hope it can be fixed! Thank you.

После установки пароля на одну ленту, FireFox падать начал. Сейчас что-бы попасть в настройки, нужно само расширение запустить, после этого и идёт падение, иными словами, до настроек не добраться. Может лучше настройки отдельно сделать?
Мы учтем при разработке новых версий. По возможности, просьба создать запись-баг на http://newsfox.mozdev.org/bugs.html и указать ссылку на ленту, может пригодиться в разборе "падения".

This is the only one doing job like it should: gives me te native feeling, lets me delete unwanted items, allows selecting multiple items etc
Unfortunately it is a bit broken on e10s, main tab won't open (even after removing the check) BUT if you bookmark its address it seems to work quite fine, will test further. Anyway, it would be really nice if it gets updated to work like it should with e10s

feature req: format embedded content (video) as HTML5 to eliminate Flash dependency
bug/feature req: when deleting a feed from a custom folder, the feed should be deleted from the Feeds folder
bug/feature req: Newsfox is often unable to get the site favicon, even though Firefox is always able to (when there is one) - NF should get the icon same as FF
