I love this extension for Firefox and it does work for Thunderbird, but apparently only for messages and not other UI elements. still definitely worthwhile.

Thunderbird 115.6.1 で正常に機能します！
Thunderbird 115.x には、
「ダーク」テーマがネイティブ実装されているが、メッセージの「会話ビュー」やアドオンマネージャーなどでダーク除外ケースや真っ黒になって視認困難な事例を頻繁に経験し唖然とさせられます。
Thunderbird の設定（Settings）で、Fonts & Colors（書体と色調）などの調整を試行錯誤したが、どうにも芳しくはなく、「ダーク」テーマの使用継続に見切りを付けた。

ところが、
この拡張機能を実装（インストール）してみたところ「完全なダークテーマ」効果をあっけなく実現できた！
この拡張機能を使用する場合は、
Thunderbird のテーマは、「Light」を選択しておくことがミソのようです。

Please update. Very far behind from the Firefox version, creates a white flash and doesn't have the new UI.

Sorry, does not load in thunderbird 115.3.3. Message pane stays white.

Each message emits a bright white flash before turning dark. This is unacceptable for an addon which aims to lessen eye strain. The whole window contens should be hidden or masked with black rectangle until it is properly rendered in dark colors.

An easy solution to complete dark mode. The only negative that removes the 5th star is the flashing when I open a new mail. It flashes white (the original color) before the dark mode plugin takes over. Which is uncomfortable, to say the least. Other than that, this is a great plugin.

This is a very user friendly app. Works on all versions of Thunderbird, despite some users say the contrary. Easy to setup and no special requirements.

Most important feature is that it really removes the whiteness and excess light from the screen. You can also add it to your browser.

Love at the first use - guaranteed.

TB dark theme + Dark Reader finally gives a real dark mode. TB should support it out of the box.

I really like how I can make the email or website dark. However, the shortcut for individual sites don't work (shift+alt+A), but the other shortcut for all websites work (shift+alt+D). Also, unlike the add on in Firefox, I don't know where its at in Thunderbird.

Update: Figured it out that it has to be added to the toolbar manually. Good add on here.

Oh my goodness a Thunderbird version, my sanity is SAVED. Trying to do a dark-mode for emails without this is a nightmare. Thunderbird just mangles HTML emails if you force text/background colours.

This review if for version 4.9.39 on Thunderbird 91.4.1. I like how this add-on gets rid of many of the white backgrounds in Thunderbird, without changing some of the UI elements that get changed when simply changing colors in Thunderbird's Preferences.
