SoundPlus customizes the sound that is played when a new message arrives for a particular contact in the address book, similar to mobile phones. There is also a variation that is played when a message arrives and it is a continuation of a thread.

SoundPlus is an addon that enhances the audio capabilities of the e-mail client Thunderbird. It is possible to customize the sound that is played when a new message arrives for a particular contact in the address book. It is similar to incoming sounds of mobile phones. Besides the sound played when a new message arrives there is a sound variation that is played when a message arrives and it is a continuation of a thread. In that way, it is possible to know that the message that has just arrived is the beginning or the continuation of a previous conversation.
In Thunderbird Options (Preferences) General Tab it is possible to activate the SoundPlus feature (SoundPlus 1.0).
In Thunderbird Adds-on window it is possible to activate the SoundPlus feature, clicking the SoundPlus Options button (SoundPlus 1.1).
In the Address Book Contact Card, a SoundPlus Tab permits to set the customized sound for a person.
