Fails to run on on large inboxes and just hangs Thunderbird. Really wish this would work with larger folder sizes. Would be great if the add-on would let us know how many messages it can actually handle. Not fit for my use case I guess.

Ich habe endlose Duplikate in meinem Ordner. Aber dieses "Tool" behauptet stur, da seien überhaupt keine. Habe die neueste Version von TB Pocket (102.2.0)

Got it to work on my main ISP E-mail accounts but didn't work on all the folders I tried in my Outlook E-mail account.

By far the easiest way of getting rid of clutter. It is no longer being updated from the look of it. That is really sad as it one of the most useful plugins available for a mail client. I would happily pay for this plugin if someone was willing to build it as a paid plugin (HINT HINT).

This extension is amazing if you use an old version of Thunderbird. Unfortunately it is not compatible with TB68.
Really hope there is an update.

Well I am glad everyone is doing great with this add-on, but the page says not to download any of the Remove Duplicate Message tools if using the latest version of T-Bird. And Version 65 is coming soon!

Super Addon. Eines der besten Addons für TB die es überhaupt gibt.
Leider und zu meinem GROSSEN Ärger funktioniert das Tool seit der TB Aktualisierung auf 60.4.0 nicht mehr.
Ich habe nun die Updates für TB abgestellt, weil diese ständigen "Aktalisierungen" total nerven und danach stets einige Addons nicht mehr funktionieren. Die Entwickler scheinen TB wohl nicht im Griff zu haben. Firefox ist bei mir schon Geschichte, weil die Versionen immer beknackter und unmöglicher wurden. FF war zuletzt eine Zumutung. Man kann ein Programm auch kaputt aktualisieren "liebe" Firefox-Developer (Ignoranten).
Andere "Dup-Remover" funktionieren nicht und sind einfach nur Schrott wie die neuen FF-Versionen.
Ich habe mehr als 10 Mail-Accounts und da ist es SEHR WICHTIG, Duplikate entfernen zu können. Dein Tool war meine Rettung.
BITTE lieber Thorsten passe Dein Tool sobald als möglich auf die neue Version an. Zur Not würde ich sogar die neue Version von TB rauskicken und eine ältere Version installieren, nur um "Remove Duplicate Messages" wieder einsetzen zu können. Also bitte ran an die Aktualisierung. DANKE VIELMALS.

Perfect. But out of date, need the updated version for last Thunderbird version (now 60.4.0). I feel lost without it.

Awesome.
It saved me a lot when moving emails between IMAP accounts. I got intermittent network connection errors and had to restart the process. Obviously I was left with duplicates on the target.
This addon saved me.

This doesn't seem to work in TB 17.0.8. ..
It does its scans, and identifies the dupes, marking one for KEEP, the rest to DEL . . . good so far . .
But on clicking DELETE SELECTED, although it confirms the number of messages to delete . . . clicking on confirm doesn't do anything! It doesn't actually delete the duplicates!.
[Already tried editing the .rdf file per previous tip, but no joy.]

This add-on works fine with TB60, I tested it, but you need to modify a little the code.
Uninstall the add from you TB
Download the XPI on the add-on : https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/downloads/latest/remove-duplicate-messages/addon-956-latest.xpi?src=dp-btn-primary
Open open the XPI folder with 7zip or other
Into the folder you will a file named "install.rdf", extract it and open it with Wordpad or equal
at th 11th line you will have "maxVersion>31.*"
change this by "maxVersion>60.*"
save the file, and put it into the XPI archive (replacing the old one)
install manualy from TB (the wheel in the top of the add page in TB)
Reboot and enjoy !
Note this tip works with a lot of old adds.
