Instead of this add-on I use Quicktext for TB68. Not so powerfool as SubjectManager, but no choice.

I fully agree and support your statements about Mozilla. I cant believe how short sited mozilla are, they have lost many followers due to their "security" updates, done at the expense and loss of developers and users, I would suggest both security AND the developers and users go hand in hand and not one at the expense of the other. I have several addons that will not work with 68 so have simply remained on version 60 as these developers too have had enough.

I am and have always been a hardcore Mozilla user, I used Netscape in the early days long before Internet Explorer was around and have never used an M$ browser or email programme, or word processor for that matter (Open Office).

I have donated on numerous occasions to the Mozilla cause but will not do so again.

I have it running on TB 68.5.0, yet the configuration is not possible. Would not share yet, I think the authors should make a glimpse into the code.

Ce programme est fantastique et très pratique. En outre il permet grâce aux compteurs de gérer les mails de façon professionnelle. Peut-on acheter ce programme ?

I well understand the reasons why the developer doesn't want to update his addon.
It is sad because Subject Manager is simple and helpful.
Good job!

It installed, and seems to work in version 60.7.2 (64-bit) for Linux, but can't get "current_date" to work. I'd give 5 stars if I can get it to work. I have the advanced box checked. How do you get it to parse the date to the subject line?

Hi. Date is easy to insert, just write the following subject : %M%D%Y. If it does not work it should be something else. So please contact me at [email protected].
Besides that, telling you'll give 5 stars when you can get it to work is off topic. Does ferrari build bad cars because you're not a race driver? Regards,

Love this little add-on. It allows me to automatically include the day's date in the subject line.

During a job, I keep all the correspondence with a client in a folder in my Thunderbird program. Upon closing out the client, I want to remove those and save them on my hard drive.

Problem was, they all saved as of the date of transfer which was the close-out date. If I needed to refer back to an email, there was no way to organize by date which is often the easiest way for me to find an issue. Well, I guess I could have changed the date on each email, but when there are over 100 emails per client, no way!

Now, with Subject Manager, the dates are automatically inserted as soon as I open up a "compose" email window. Once I close out a client, I can search any client's saved folder by organizing by the subject line. Easy peasy.

I've been trying to figure out a way to do this for some time. Thanks, Subject Manager!

Thanks to TrVTrV for the work on Subject Manager especially v0.3.5 which corrected a little bug that was tainting an otherwise excellent add-on.

Remember if you like this or any other add-on I would encourage you to make a donation or at the very least post a positive review. It is important to reward developers in one way or another for their time and effort.

Is it right that I can not change subject of received emails? Is this addon only for sending emails?

> GSM is only for mails sent, not received ones.
> I think the description is quite explanatory.

My reply to the developer's reply:

The description says "... to manage subjects of emails which are written."
All emails are "written", sent and received ones. OK, now I understand, it's only for composed emails – which is a pity for such a great addon.

GSM is only for mails sent, not received ones. I think the description is quite explanatory. 3/5 is very tough because you judge the addon on what it does not do and what it does not intend to do...

EDIT: thanks for your reply and change of the ranking. I've updated the description to be clearer too.
