Manually sort folders

I found the problem I was having with the add-on. I was seeing only a popup window with a list of my account names. The add-on wouldn't show or do anything else. No menu, no buttons, just the account list.
You can see what it looks like here: https://i.postimg.cc/VkWqM344/MSF-2.jpg

The reason: it doesn't like my desktop video config. It needs to be fixed for compatibility with HD desktops/displays.

The popup window is permanently stuck above the desktop frame (out of bounds) and there is no way to force it down once opened, IF I run the add-on with Tbird in my normal desktop mode (1920x1080).

I had tried changing desktop resolution before, but I didn't go far enough with my experiments. Turns out, there are two ways to fix this:

1.) Lower desktop vertical resolution to 1024 or below. The top bar, menu/tabs and buttons become visible. Then, drag the window down and the top portion of the window will stay in view when desktop resolution is increased to normal.

2.) This method may not work for everyone, depending on their graphics card/driver. Switch display via driver from 1080p to 1080i while the popup window is stuck out of bounds. That forces the top part of it into view. Changing from 1080i to 1080p with the window stuck out of bounds also works.

Lastly, the window must be maximized in order to scroll to the bottom of a long accounts list and to see the Local folders bar, Restart Thunderbird and Close buttons.

Kind of a pain to have to do this, but beggars can't be choosers.

Bookmarks Checker - check for bad links

Avaliado com 1 de 5 estrelas

This version of Bookmarks Checker deletes bookmarks created by the Resume Later add-on! I lost a couple dozen video bookmarks because of it and no way to retrieve the list.

It also hangs FF 45.x and FF 46.x with a thread setting higher than 3. It generally occurs around 43% of a 1k+ size bookmark list, which means it probably won't happen with much smaller lists; memory leak?

ReminderFox

argh! Version 2.1.4.2 wrecked my navbar.. again.

I had to remove ReminderFox, then recreate my custom navbar (FF27.0), then install ReminderFox.

At least this update doesn't break the navbar after reinstalling (like 2.1.4 did), but this still needs fixing as it breaks an existing custom navbar until it is removed then reinstalled.

IOW, don't autoupdate it -- remove your 2.1.4.1 then install 2.1.4.2 from scratch.

P. S. oops, sorry devs. I was editing while you replied. What it does is removes icons from other add-ons (Self-Destructing cookies, ResumeLater, etc.) from my custom navbar. Version 2.1.4.2 wouldn't let me put them back -- I had to remove it then put the other add-on icons back, then install 2.1.4.2

ReminderFox

I liked this add-on previously, but it breaks my custom navbar in FF26.0 (i.e., removes icons of other add-ons & prevents reinsertion of same), so I won't use it again until this is fixed.

It gets 3 stars just because it's otherwise one of the best reminders out there -- I'll give it the other 2 when it stops breaking my navbar.

Bookmarks Checker - check for bad links

The current iteration offers just about everything one could want in this kind of app. It's a worthy replacement for the defunct Andy Halford's CheckPlaces.

A couple of enhancements off the top of my head:

1. an option to automatically open flagged pages for manual review, with user-selectable page count to batch open -- e.g., 5 tabs/pages open, which can be viewed/cleared by the user, after which another 5 tabs open, and so on.

2. persistence -- upon closing the JS Application prompt, Bookmarks Checker also closes. It would be nice if it could remain open so the user could perform additional operations before ultimately closing it when desired.

As it is, this add-on will serve you well.

Keep up the good work devs!

Folder Pane View Switcher

Avaliado com 4 de 5 estrelas

Once upon a time, Tbird provided TABS to switch between folder sets. I was sad to see that functionality go.

Arrow toggling shaves some time off doing it via dropdown menu, but configurable TABS means you get to the desired folder set with a single click.

Please consider replacing the arrows with tabs. Options which should be included are the ability to select which folder views appear as tabs on the bar and selectable order of their appearance (i.e., unread on first tab, all on second tab, etc.).

Also, for the KB warriors, you could add hotkeys to jump directly to desired folder views.

Thanks for your efforts.

Quote Colors

I got Vim from here: http://www.vim.org/download.php#pc
I got the unzip and zip from here: ftp://ftp.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/win32/
Check the readme to see which files you need.
I saved them to the Tbird extensions folder.

Vim wouldn't save the modified install.rdf into the .xpi past 87% (it isn't read-only or blocked and I have admin rights), so I had to jump through hoops:

1. rename quote_colors-0.3-tb+sm.xpi with .zip extension
2. unzip to dedicated folder (to avoid confusion)
3. right click install.rdf, Edit with Vim
4. save file
5. zip the quote_colors folder contents with 7-zip
6. rename the new .zip with .xpi extension
7. open Tbird and install .xpi
