One of the add-ons I use every day. Most functions still work with the current Thunderbird version when "extensions.strictcompatibility" is set to false.
I really wonder why these buttons are not part of the default options of Thunderbird.
The colour buttons still work, but they don't show the selected colours any more. I would be really happy if the developer could provide an update for the current Thunderbird version, please!!!

Before downloading version 1.3 which you just published, I tried changing the "extensions.strictcompatibility" to false and achieved exactly the same result as with your new version. Everything works except the font size.
So what is the difference and why the new version? Unfortunately it hasn't solved the main problem.
Any way to fix it? Would be most appreciated

I've made it TB 60 partially compatible. I've just increased the max version of TB in "install.rdf" file. It seems that font size feature does not work anymore, but other features work well. Please try: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JbFpslszDtnBX8MFms0H4cWzv8rgxtZh

I really miss the buttons and controls to change the font size when composing emails and the highlighter. Will you be updating this add-on to be compatible with TB60?

Had no problems with this till today's Tb update. Since then this app crashes Tb when compose screen is opened.
Owner's site has not been updated in a year; all the 'forum' entries are spam, and; the contact form does nothing. Is he deceased?
Final year of a five year university degree, so yeah deceased is not far from the truth. Just hope to rise from the dead again at the end of the year...

As a scientist, I often would like to use super- and sub-scripts in my emails. Many thanks for enabling this capability in Thunderbird.

Doesn't function well in TB 45.3. The buttons don't behave as expected. No way to unselect a button - subscript, superscript ,etc.

Basically adding what was missing and should have been there in the first place. Good idea with 5 such colour buttons and where the colour can be maintained! Additional suggestions would be separate icons for 'link', 'image', 'table' & 'characters and symbols'.

Great addon! The only question is font size 14 or 8 shows no difference in my composing window, but it does show correct sizes in the preview window and actual email received. Is that a program bug or problem with Thunderbird or perhaps my computer screen resolution? My screen resolution is 1920 x 1080.
Might be some odd minimum font size setting messing with how the message is displayed in the compose window.

Great Addon!
There is any way that you are adding the format painter feature? (like in outlook).
It is certainly something that I would consider in the future. This add-on has really surprised me in its popularity, particularly given its current small feature set, so I really want to start expanding that to see where it will go.

At last!! After over 10 years of waiting, in the year 2015 Thunderbird FINALLY gets some basic functionality that was available in MS Outlook Express in the late 1990's!
Thank you so much for writing this extension. I think everybody should press for this extension to be incorporated into Thunderbird as a proper "feature"!

I am working on a new version of this extension now. I have got the toolbar to be customizable, so I can add more buttons without worrying about the toolbar running out of room. It will also let me drop things off the toolbar (such as the old larger/small text buttons) with out removing them totally if wanted.

If you've always been annoyed with Thunderbird inadequacies,
such as this madness that the character size and character style is constantly changing itself and it is impossible to set all characters to one same size, (since there is only a stupid character-larger and character-smaller function - and here even such a crutch like Outlook Express works better)
-> This can now finally help !!!
So finally prevents the trouble - just select all, select character- size and art, and relax.
The programmer of this little app has completely revised and it now works with the latest Thunderbird perfectly together.

I love it! One of the things that have kept me for a long time away from TB, now finally perfected what the original programmer of TB were not able to.
