My proxy requires authentication, is it possible to set username and password using this or the config editor?
Its kind of frustrating having to re-enter credentials over and over again.

Bit of a waste - no description of what it's supposed to do... Just several opinions about "it" and how "it" should be downloaded/installed - absolutely brilliant!!

In Thunderbird 1.5 or later, about:config is accessed via "Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config Editor (button)"

this is good idea but...
for me doesn't work:
- Kubuntu 8.0.4
- TB 2.0.0.17
the button OK is missed on add-on preferences panel.

Open Options > Advanced, then click on the Config Editor button. Now read what it says inside the active window title. So even without a description of this extension, you should already know what about:config is. If you aren't familiar with the contents of the Options panel, then perhaps you shouldn't be using Thunderbird at all. It irks me to no end that you gave this extension a 1-star rating just because you haven't familiarized yourself with Thunderbird's built-in features.

Poorly described (in fact not described). do your job.

anyone who needs a description of what this does shouldnt be a developer or be downloading addons to begin with.

anyone who is familiar with mozilla products knows what about config is and doesnt need a detailed explanation of what it does.

normal people dont want to read a huge description of the obvious.

It does only one thing, add a menu item to "extras" to access the about:config page. Simple, but effective

Poorly described. First rule of a decent developer - don't be lazy with your documentation. ;-)

It's ridiculous to "rate" something that you don't know how to use, what it does, or why you might want to even install it. This does exactly what is supposed to do, works perfectly with Thunderbird 2.0, and deserves every star I've given it: *****

The description takes about a subsubsubmenu -- which one? I don't know enough about Thunderbird to guess what this program does. Thank you
